Excellent tasting room on the main drag in Fredericksburg.Super-friendly service and fantastic wine. Great place to stop in and cool off with wine & water.
This was my favorite place of the weekend. I wish I could remember the girls name who walked us through our tasting. I know she was still in high school because she couldn'tpour our drinks, but she was a phenomenal server. She seemed a little timid at first to chat with us, but once we asked a few questions she just whipped out an immense amount of detail. This girl knew her stuff and we were so enlightened when we left. The place itself was nice and the wines (almost all dry) were fairly good. Watch out for that dessert wine, it'll catch you quick! Great experience!
Stopped in for a tasting with friends. Delicious wines with comfortable environment and extremely hospitable staff. A man named Bob in particular went above and beyond sharing a deep knowledge of the wines, things to do in town and treated us like we were his own family. We will definately return and tell our friends this is a must when in town (and ask for Bob!).
This was the worst winery we tried at Fredericksburg (we went to 7 places). Their red wine was warm, disgusting. That’s not the temperature to have a wine, the lady that was serving the wine told us that maybe outside in the patio they keep them a little cooler but we went there and they were not serving anymore. Also we wanted to have some food and she said they were not serving anymore food and she gave us a bag of crackers… with the second glass I thought I was gonna throw up because the taste was just not ok, the temperature of the wine and of the winery was hot, no AC, just room temperature… we were not able to finish the tasting. Got 3 tickets left and no interesting on returning there. You better look for some other places.
Greason was fantastic! This was my first wine tasting, and we did several afterwards. Hands down the best experience of the day, and I would recommend this wine tasting place to everyone.
Nice size outdoor seating for various size groups. This being our first visit we found the Becker cabernet to be a favorite . Staff very attentive and good value
I enjoyed their tasting a lot. They give you 7 samples of your choosing plus the glass for $25. The servers did a very nice job of explaining the wines and you can sit at the bar or at various tables. We sat at a table which worked well. You drink at your own pace and then return to the bar when you’re ready for another sample. In terms of the wines, I thought the whites were a little better than the reds. None were bad however.
Terrible experience, rudely told to go somewhere else.Came in and the server gave us an odd look. When we asked for a tasting they asked what kinds of wine we liked. We tend towards sweeter wines but not exclusively. We were shortly told they have almost none of that and should go somewhere else. Too bad our friends who like sweet wines recommended this place to us after they enjoyed it. Wonder why we were turned away. Felt like it was because we weren't like the rest of the clientele, old and white.
We stopped here with family from out of state. We were a little surprised at their pricing. No free samples, must purchase and no credit toward wine purchases if you buy sample glasses.
I first discovered Becker many years ago and it was quiet a charming location. Through the years, it has become a tourist trap and it's not a fraction of what it used to be. There are hundreds of wineries in the Hill Country so suggest finding some better ones.
