We decided to go here not remembering that it was Father’s Day morning before we arrived. It was busy with a wait. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated which was sooner than I imagined.Our waitress took our order for our drinks quickly and brought out the drinks In a timely fashion. We asked for some cream for our coffee but our cream didn’t arrive until we reminded our waitress again. She was apologetic and brought it right now. It was busy so we understood that remembering everything can be tough.We ordered our meals and the food came out fast. It was exactly what we ordered and the eggs were cooked to our preferences.The bacon was cooked great. It was an awesome thickness, it was chewy but crunchy, and it had a sweetness to it that I enjoyed. Pancakes were great but I’m not surprised since Pancake is in the restaurant name. My hacienda was interesting but I actually really enjoyed it. It was like a Mexican inspired eggs Benedict.I feel if it wasn’t so busy we would have had better service but since it was so busy and our table was often forgotten we had to give this place a 4 out of 5 stars. We will be back of course though.
I scheduled a breakfast meeting with a very close friend but I was in charge of picking the place to eat. The name of the place jumped out at me, and it seemed to be family-owned and not a chain. I liked that immediately. The waiter was very polite and very patient as it took me some time to decide since were both stunned by all the various food items on the menu. My friend and I both had omelets, but I had the spinach mushroom cheddar which was delicious.They weren't crowded at all, as I expected so we didn't have to wait too long to get our food. Our waiter was great, tending to us both without constantly interrupting our conversation. The Original Pancake House is close to the Hulen Mall and is within walking distance of Sprouts Farmers Market, and Home Depot. I think it's a great place for breakfast.
Ate here for lunch the other day. This was a very "ok-ish" experience. The service was ok, the food was ok, the prices were ok. This experience was the definition of middle of the road.I ordered a country Benedict with a side of pancakes.The Benedict had hits and misses. The best part was definitely the gravy. Really good flavor and was the perfect consistency. The biscuit was not flaky at all. Almost overcooked I would say. The eggs and the sausage were just bland. You could have left off the eggs entirely and you wouldn't have even noticed from a flavor point of view.The pancakes though were spot on good. But why are they so small? Idk, to me the concept doesn't make sense. It's the pancake house, but pancakes are never the main dish, always the side. They were cooked so well, but I just wanted big fat fluffy pancakes and sadly that really isn't an option.They have good pancakes, but I want bigger ones as a main course. Also, I wasn't a fan of their syrup. Had a weird flavor to it.All in all, it wasn't a bad experience. But not what I was expecting or hoping for when I went there.
Service was OK, food was OK, everything was just kind of OK. Small portions. If I am going to spend $25 (plus a good tip of course) for breakfast for two, I will probably go somewhere else next time.
This restaurant is a good pancake house. They have been in business for over 68 years. The staff provide excellent customer service. Many of their menu items have smaller portion options and you can customize the menu items.
The worst breakfast food ever I would never come back. Had a bug on the table. This place need to be shut down
Excellent service! Courtney was so sweet and attentive. The portions are very generous, we couldn't even finish our meals. The pancakes are SO GOOD! Our table had plain, chocolate chip amd blueberry and they were all very, very good. The bacon is HUGE and cooked perfectly! This is a definite must try to breakfast
This restaurant has the best pancakes! The taste and texture is perfect! The prices are great as well. The entire staff was amazing. The hostess greeted us and was friendly. Our waitress, Cindy, was exceptional! I had her ringing in separate orders because I couldn’t decide and asked her to put in a takeout order. She not once ever gave an attitude but was very pleasant and polite about it. I will definitely be coming back here and to this location. They are hiring too!
This was my first time to go. Larry was our server he was absolutely amazing and on top of everything. I was so impressed. The food was great, service a billion times better!!
Our waitress was awesome. She made sure my coffee was filled at all times. She also made sure to ask if everything was okay. The food was great!
