I picked up dinner from the Houston Heights location, and it was great. Super friendly staff, and great food. Glad to have this in the neighborhood!

The spot has a nice setup. I went for the first time and tried the chicken sandwich with macaroni and fries. I've had better sandwiches, but it was still pretty solid. Nothing to go crazy over. The fries were excellent. The macaroni was absolutely terrible lol.
I love the food here! Very flavorful and fresh. My kids like the chicken and waffles and I like the tender salad! It's a cool vibe place. The customer service here is great too!
The Cookshack is ssooo good! This is 100% a place you have to put on your DFW TDL!We ordered the chicken and waffles, chicken tacos, and chicken and ribs. I went a bit too hot for chicken (Texas hot, and I am an avid lover of everything spicy) but I was still able to eat it, the spicy seasoning flavor is very tasteful. .. My wife got mild and it was super mild. I think medium is a perfect blend.Overall everything was delicious. Perfectly cooked, and tasted very fresh. Quality is clearly a priority here.The restaurant was clean and all staff were very well trained and presentable.The little deserts they have... Oh Lord... Soo good!Give it a try, you will not regret it.
Okay - finally found a hot chicken sandwich that you can taste the breading, spice, and heat. This place is flat out the best I’ve had relating to service and quality of food. If you come be careful with the heat ratings, it’s legit. The mac and cheese is better than most that I’ve tried. The wait staff are incredibly helpful. From the second you walk in it is apparent that you are important to them (3 smiles and 4 hello’s all before I sat down in a booth). Location is fantastic. I fear the amount I will crave this place throughout the week ?

Honestly one of the best chicken places I've ever been to. Everyone was super nice and took care of me and had patience for a first timer. The chicken was moist and huge and didn't taste like Tyson (meaning definitely not fake). I loved the dragon fries but be warned: they look exactly like the regular fries. Over all if you want a good tasting spicy chicken here is the place, it's totally worth the price. I overhears the salad despite being kale was also amazing.
