I've finally found some good Texas BBQ!! Black owned too!! ?? Smoke a holics came up in a Google search so I went to check it out for lunch...had the rib tips & smoked mac & cheese everything was so damn good. I couldn't finish the rib tips so I'm saving them for dinner. I'll be sure to tell my fellow flight crew about it & stop here whenever I'm in DFW! ?
Placed a large order for a family dinner on Thursday to be picked up on Saturday. Everything was perfect! The brisket was so tender and flavorful. The ribs were falling off the bone. And the chicken was moist and delicious! The ladies at the counter were super nice and helpful and the gentleman who brought out the food even loaded it into the car for us. I will definitely be using them for future events!
This is some great BBQ. It's on the Top-50 list, but the line is not that bad at all. I really enjoyed the ribs and brisket. Both straight forward without a lot of fancy rubs. But the star of the show were the beans. Don't go home without those!

I was excited to try their "thicken" however was informed upon arriving that they would not be serving any until Wednesday. Honestly everything I wanted to try was not available on the Tuesday that I went. The food was decent but slightly over priced. I understand the price of a lot of things has gone up but I have never paid $20 for a plate of bbq and doubt I ever will again. I barely pay that much for seafood which should be that expensive. I'd definitely recommend trying them out for yourself but call first to make sure they are serving what you'd like to try.

O my Gauwd. This is got to be one of the best barbecue spots on the south side if you get the chance come out and try what they have for offer the banana pudding is wonderful!
Have been wanting to try Smoke-A-Holics for a long time. It’s in the Texas Monthly Top 50 so that’s a pretty good endorsement. The problem has been that the only dine-in option is outside and it's been either too hot or too cold. This time it was pretty warm but we were tired of waiting so we went for it. Let me say right off that it's good food but GET IT TO GO. Even with the heat and us getting the only table with shade, it would have been okay except for the flies. They were terrible. Try eating with one hand and using your other throughout the meal to constantly wave the flies away. Not fun! Every time we’ve been by there, it’s been busy and this time was no exception. It’s very small inside and there was a constant stream of folks coming and either ordering to-go or picking up phoned in orders. But the folks in there were really hustling so the wait wasn’t long and they actually brought our food out to us since we were eating there. Our favorite item was the pork ribs. They had an incredible flavor; some of the best either of us have had in a long time. The brisket was very moist and had a thick smoke ring. It was also so tender you could cut it with a plastic fork. The black pepper sausage was also quite good. Firm, not a hint of “heat” (They had a cheddar jalapeno option if you’re looking for heat.) but good smoky flavor. The bolo (one of my favorite bbq items when I can find it) was well smoked and tasty. As far as sides, the green beans and the mac and cheese were ok. There was nothing special about them. The mac and cheese was supposed to be “smoky” but I didn’t detect anything like that about it. My friend had the beans and the cajun creamed corn. He said the beans were different than what he is used to and thought maybe they were a mixture of pinto beans and baked beans. But he liked them as he did the cajun cream corn. It was good enough that I ordered more ribs, brisket, sausage and half a chicken to bring home for my wife and dad. The chicken, which we had the next night for dinner was very moist and tasty. If you want a discount on your order, bring cash. (There is a 4% discount for paying with cash.) And you definitely should go. It’s very good. Just plan on eating it somewhere else!
My first visit to Smoke A Holics BBQ on Evans Avenue here in Fort Worth, Texas. There's been a lot of POSITIVE BUZZ about this restaurant and for good reason. The barbecue is Absolutely Delicious ?! In all honesty, it's the BEST BBQ I've had in quite awhile. I ordered a 2 meat plate ( ribs & sausage ) with 2 sides ( potato salad and green beans). Everything was better than GOOD. In my very humble opinion, this is Texas Barbecue at its BEST. A WINNER! ?
