Rise was a VERY pleasant surprise on this hot Texas afternoon. Wife and I had a rare, kid-free evening and Rose stood out as a unique, something new kind of place. The restaurant’s decor is very whimsical and fun. The staff super friendly, but the food! So uncommon for DFW and excellent. My wife had the three course menu of the Marshmallow Soup, Cauliflower and Brie soufflé, and Raspberry soufflé. I had the onion soup, Jambon et Gruyère soufflé, and the Grand Marnier soufflé…and, of course, we tried each of each other’s. I love French Onion soup, so it was a natural choice for me—and Rise’s version was excellent. The Jambon et Gruyère was also really tasty, and I would choose both again. Both dessert soufflés were also good, but I would probably choose a non-souffle dessert next time…but only because I think I needed some “texture” by this point. ?. Absolutely nothing wrong with the dessert soufflés, I just needed some crunch! Highly recommended for date night, or just for a great, different night out!
Took my husband after church. Food was wonderful. I had the crayfish souffle and it just melted in my mouth. The strawberry dessert souffle was just as good. Service was excellent as well can't wait to return
If u read any of my many reviews, I sometimes mention dining vs eating. I also have a category above dining, and that I call unique. There have been less than 10 such restaurants in my dining experiences. Surprisingly several have been in shopping centers. Wherever located they cause me to rethink things, and leave lasting impressions for my life. Rise has risen to that level. A local recommended Rise and said to have the Onion Soup, and the Rise salad. We did and boy were they excellent, as was the Grand Marnier soufflé. Gabriella (our server) and others were pleasant and efficient despite being very busy. The menu & the place are so interesting and good that we will return. PS: I always use Tripadvisor before going. I love to read the poor and terribles first. Most, often only have 1 or 2 griping reviews, which I quickly discount. This time they were a plus for me as the complaints were actually what made Rise unique. How much so? Go see for yourself, if you have the chance.
Ok, this isn't my kind of place but my wife made me go. If you like souffles and a French vibe this your place. My Southwest Chicken souffle was very good and the tomato based mushroom soup was also very good. Great infused tea and the bread and butter were awesome. Service was very good and knowledgeable. Definitely a place to try when you're feeling something different. It is pricey but.....
For an upscale restaurant, this is reasonably priced. We started with the marshmallow soup and the onion soup. The marshmallow soup was very good, but nothing too crazy. The onion soup, while good, was too salty, and that ruined the dish a bit. Then we had the jambon and gruyere souffle and the truffles souffle. Both were excellent, but the truffle souffle had a delightful richness in the taste of the mushroom. Dessert was the highlight of the night. We had a creme brulee and a raspberry souffle. The creme brulee was everything a creme brulee should be. Hard on the top, it breaks satisfyingly to reveal a consistent creme anglaise. The raspberry souffle was an unforseen ode to the raspberry. It highlighted all of its qualities, making it soft and creamy without compromising on the tang. My favorite of the evening. Service was very nice as I would expect from a place like this one. A very nice experience, we will most likely be back for the sweet souffles!
The Ahi Tuna is great!! I enjoy it with a Cabernet Frank and then a French Press coffee.
Our 3rd trip to dine at Rise and our worst experience to date, with some issues transcending all 3 events. Pros. Rise has a nice decor and unique food. Cons. Service and food prep need improvement. Salad nicoise was delivered without potatoes. Taste was bland missing sufficient marinade, onions needed more grilling, and there were too few green beans. The mushroom truffle soufflé was brought out immediately and we asked that it be delivered when we had finished the salad. Waitress obliged, but it was later delivered fallen and evidently just reheated? Really! We asked for limes for the water but had to remind the waitress. It was a later dining time so NOT a busy time. Pecan soufflé and creme brulle were tasty. But as we were starting dessert waitress brought out the check with the obligatory "no hurry." But it felt like we were being rushed. Even with few patrons inside, dining was loud not in small part due to staff talking near the kitchen. Sound deadeners are needed. Most importantly the staff needs to take a lesson from the French. Patrons should be treated like the table is ours for the night, with the staff ensuring the flow is appropriate and verifying the food is made correctly. Rise bills itself as an upscale restaurant with prices that say that. We are writing this review with the hope that management will address the deficiencies. If they don't, our next review will reflect and be our last trip there.
Amazing experience! Seth made us feel so special for our anniversary. Even Carlos, the service manager, took care of every detail. Definitely worth your visit!
Bring your appetite and your wallet. You get what you pay for and the food is brilliant! Everything was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was great and the environment was a good cross of French and American feels. Plenty wine and everything that suits the pallet.
Lovely experience. Marshmallow and French onion soups were divine. Soufflés were light and fantastic. Even the iced tea was tasty. We will be back.
