After a week outside of Texas to visit family in Pennsylvania, I wanted my first restaurant dinner to be Texas BBQ. Despite the numerous recent one star reviews, I opted for this location. I didn't think it could be that bad and it wasn't. The three meat combo was my choice. Brisket, pork ribs and smoked sausage with beans, slaw and potato salad. Portions of meats were ample, enough for two people or meals. Everything was good. The meats were flavorful but the ribs were dry. Sides were also good. Had it not been for the dry ribs, this would be a four star review. Decor is pure Texas. I imagine it gets quite loud when full of people. Service could have been better but was adequate. Tip for Selena. Get into your job and you'll earn better tips. I will return to try other menu items.
I have been going to the Riscky's BBQ on Camp Bowie location for several years. They had decent BBQ at a descent price. I always had great service but that is not the case anymore.I brought an issue to the attention of the manager on duty (Gary Williams) and he was the rudest person and did not care about my complaint. Customer service lacks. Sad to say I used to like this place in the past.
Ordered take out. Got the family pack of pork ribs and beef sausage, along with half a pound of brisket to take home to my better half at the end of the night. Pork ribs were dry, tough, and bland. Sausage was also bland, pretty sure it was just taken out of a grocery store package and warmed up before being sliced. Potato salad was also bland and almost completely pulverized, almost mashed potato texture. Not sure how they managed it, but even the pickle was bland! Barbecue sauce was a thorough meh. I dropped 75 dollars on this and none of the four of us could find any redeeming qualities about this meal. Avoid, you can find far better for far less at so many other places. Y'all should be ashamed of what you're serving and the price you're charging. They also short change on the brisket by filling the cup with sauce so it weighs more. If some coasties in freaking Delaware can deliver meat falling off the bone ribs, why can't a Texan?
We went here around 630pmish on a Friday night; when the stock show was in town. We had 12 people in our party. We did not call ahead for a reservation; but they were able to seat us in about 20 min, give or take. Our waiter was really nice and the manager checked on us all too.The food was good and came out hot. My kids liked their steaks and my salad was decent as well.I would recommend this place and suggest with a larger party to call ahead so that the wait time is not too long.I would probably come here again; even though I am a non meat eater. We attend this venue due to the meat eaters in our party. :)
Texas BBQ, Blue Moon with an orange and hot french fries with warm BBQ sauce!Comfort food spot for sure
Well, this visit was awful. The service was pathetic. The bartender, even worse. Totally ignored what we ordered, simple requests. What happened here ? Will Not go back. TY
I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was when I went for lunch. Everything was delicious, especially the fried okra! I’m a big okra fan so I know good okra and they have it. Chopped beef sandwich was great and server was attentive and polite.

Pretty good at a reasonable price. All you can eat ribs and catfish every day.
Love this place! I just wish their food was always fresh. But whenever it is (which is most of the time), it tastes amazing! Great place to go with family!
