Stay away from this place, I couldn’t finish the 3 meat plate; ribs were tough to the bone, brisket was so tough even a knife had a hard time cutting it, only thing approved was the catfish. All I finished was the pickle, Mac and cheese and potato salad; def thumbs down, even a hot pocket would have been better lol.
I HIGHLY recommend 1,000,000,000 out of 10 recommend stopping by and eating here. We are from Kentucky and the food was EXCELLENT. The service we got from Sunshine was simply amazing taking care of us. Even after I told her my wife couldn't eat much due to weight loss surgery and I asked if we could share a plate she said "of course honey, you're in Texas. It is Texas sized anyways." ??. iI really can't say enough good things about my experience. So go to Riscky's and ask for Sunshine!!!
I have been coming to this store since the 70’s. Jimmy and my dad were very good friends, all the way to the end.I will say that the last 2 times I have been there, (one as recently as tonight 5/8/22, right before closing) I have experienced unkind, unprofessional & condescending service from behind the counter at the Azle Store. I figured it may have been an isolated incident the first time. So, I let it slide, but a second time?I have been coming to his restaurants since I was a little girl, especially the Azle store. The sandwiches are my mom’s fave. But after tonight, the unapologetic rudeness I encountered, I won’t be going back anytime soon. Hopefully they can work on that.Customer service there, just isn’t what it used to be.
You can't beat 4 for $5 brisket sandwiches. The ribs were very delicious and smokey. A little disappointed with the sides, but overall very good.
Got to catch this place when the Ribs are fresh, sometimes they serve you dated ribs which can be dry and chewy. Every thing else is on point. Oh burgers used to be good when fresh now they use preform Patty's just not the same.
Decent food and very reasonable price. I enjoyed this location more than the one in stockyard, the parking is free. I am here every 2 weeks, wish they open on Sundays.
Old timey looking restaurant and original. Love looking in the past and enjoying great BBQ as well. Not too far away from the Historic stock yards. Blast from the past.
I was very excited for smoked chicken, and was disappointed. The sides and atmosphere was great!! The chicken I was not a fan of.
Who doesn't live thier in house BBQ sauce and chopped beef sandwiches! You'll love the collection of antique and unique items that cover the place.
Awesome food and great service. Highly recommend and we will be back!
