My friend brought me here for a taste of authentic Mexican. It was absolutely delicious! The server was friendly and helpful. We were serenaded by the Mariachi band. And the margarita swirls were delicious! Even if there's a line I recommend waiting in line for this wonderful food.
*ARRIVE EARLY* thankfully we got there right at 11 otherwise we would have skipped trying it (see pictures of the lines when we left at 12:15 ?!Service was great! SO MUCH FOOD - we should have shared, we know for next time!! Food tasted wonderful, 4 stars only because the sangria swirl was not impressive & they don’t have spicer salsa to offer ?! Other than that everything was great!*CASH ONLY*. MUCH better than Los Vaqueros down the street! They have great swirls but that’s all!
The food is so authentic and so yummy ! And oh my gosh the environment is wonderful. The garden area is beautiful! Cash only so be sure to come prepared!
Great Food, service, drinks and a nice crowd, Can be very busy at times. Located in a very cool section of town.
Short menu with huge servings. Chili relleno was superb. I mistakenly ordered steak fajita nachos. Huge serving enough for 4. Great but more than most could consume.
We probably ate at Joe T's 30 or 40 years ago, before the patio was added and when you walked through the kitchen to be seated. It is still the same great cuisine!
First timer at Joe T's. There are 2 lines to line up for a table - one for dining room and another for patio. We went with the shorter line and ate inside. Would recommend you come here with snacks or not very hungry as the line is long and by the time you make it inside, it is time for your next meal ??. The plus side is you can go to the bar and bring drinks to the line while you wait. Yay.For drinks we had a XX and nicely prepared ranch water. We went with beef fajitas for our entree. So here's the gist... Come here for the chips and salsa, stay for the drinks and patio atmosphere. The beans and rice are fantastic. Probably won't order beef fajitas next time; taste and texture was like eating liver and onions. They are edible, but probably just what i would not have again. The wait staff is fast and very personable. All in all, i like the limited menu and the speedy service once you get to your table.
You want a great evening out with friends on the patio with your favorite adult beverages... then 5 Stars! You want a great evening out with friends, family, etc. and eat inside, then you get a 5 Star experience, with 3 Star food. I have been going to Joe T's since I was a kid. The food is still the same stuff. The thing that makes Joe T's is the atmosphere, and the memories that you make with friends and family while there. The hostess and wait staff are amazing, fast and efficient.Kitchen speed for food service was lightning fast!OK, now on to the food.First, if you have never been there, go for LUNCH on the WEEKEND... you get a menu to pick from. If you want Enchiladas or Fajitas only, then you can go any other day of the week. The chips are awesome (when hot). The salsa is ok, but needs a kick. The queso is somewhat bland and needs a little pick me up!The appetizer tacos and tostadas that come with the meal are wonderful. The enchiladas I have always liked, but need to be served hotter. Yes, they serve them off a hot platter onto the plate at table side (for show), but they need to get them hot in the kitchen first. There's only so much that a hot platter can do.The fajitas are mediocre at best, because there is not much flavor to them. Richer marinade or lime on the top?... who knows. This is one of the few places that I will not take the leftovers home from.Beans and Rice are bland.Sopapillas... I will take those any time! Hot, fluffy with honey and cinnamon/sugar on top. Yummy!Bottom line since there is no way to score the environment separate from the food... this one ends up at a 3 for me.Joe T's is a great place, built on a great history with great memories... but it's SOOO close to being an over the top place, if the food kept up with everything else.
So many other food choices in the Stockyards, I do see the uniqueness quotient but the menu is limited and our chicken fajitas were dry and overcooked. I give it 3 stars purely on the service which was excellent
Must when in Fort Worth. Always sit outside and have a margarita. Get the Dinner and enjoy the beautiful courtyard.
