My friends and I were having a great time dancing and singing on the dance floor until a song came on that we didn’t know how to dance to so we were standing for a minute until the next song came on. The manager came up to us and told us to get off the dance floor because we weren’t dancing but the bar was packed and there was no where else to go so we ended up having to leave. Not a great experience, we will not come back and will never recommend to friends in the future.
Terrible bar crawl & cross contamination guys making tacos and taking cash with same time short staff and weak drinks
Awesome place! Me and the wife had an amazing time here. No hassle with to get in and the whole staff was friendly.
Good place for friends to meet
Some of the best bartenders around and awesome dance songs every night. A must stop on weekend excursions
best vibe and Dance music
I've been to every bar on 7th and this is 100% my favorite. The bouncers, bartenders, dj, and manager are all amazing people and I've never felt more welcome or at home than I do when I'm at hooky.
My husband and I have always loved this bar for the fun atmosphere, but last night we had a horrifying experience. We had been at Hooky inside dancing with friends and having a great time and then we moved out to the outside patio area. My husband and I were talking when a man approached him and asked my husband to come with him. Due to the little information given and the fact that my husband didn’t know this man or who he was (he certainly did not know this man was an employee of Hooky), my husband said no. The man then immediately went behind my husband and put him in a head lock and dragged him out of the back patio exit of the bar. I was absolutely shocked and asking what happened and why they were dragging him out. I went up to the man who had dragged him and another man standing by the back door (assuming they were both bouncers) and told them I wanted to be respectful and didn’t want any trouble, but asked if they could please tell me what he did or why they dragged him out. They refused to answer me and told me I needed to leave. We both feel traumatized by the situation and extremely confused as to how this happened. Our best guess is that my husband was mistaken for someone else. Regardless, if they would have simply asked us to leave we would have. There was absolutely no reason for them to put hands on my husband/physically assault him. This was unacceptable and neither of us feel safe to return to this once beloved bar. If I was the owner of this bar I would be extremely concerned to have employees acting this recklessly in fear of litigation.
