Best sushi and sashimi we have ever had. So fresh and full of flavor. New celebration place for us.
Best sushi in Fort Worth! Start with a couple of handrolls, then explore their other items. All pieces are served a one at a time. Be sure to ask lots of questions and try something unique. Nice atmosphere, but be forewarned it's a small spot and fills up quickly. We were lucky to get seated as quickly as we did. The service was great!
I’ve been here 4 times within the last month; twice solo, and twice with a friend.Whilst there is ALWAYS a wait of 30 minutes or more for dinner, the experience is always phenomenal! The Host is friendly, and inviting, the Chefs are cheerful, professional, and considerate(!), and the ambiance is perfection!Your entertainment is the creation of the rolls\sashimi right in front of you, and the sultry vibe and din of the vibrant, congenial patrons who’ll more than likely offer you some of their sake ?. The menu is ever changing, so there’s always reasons to go back.Pricing varies per market for the non-menu items, but for a preselected combination of 6 rolls, you’re paying $26 bucks. Fair price imo.Recommendations:Always, always order the Salmon Belly. The Kampachili is a fave of mine as well!Join me for the next trip!
Hatsuyuki is an incredible Japanese find in Fort Worth, all of their fish is so fresh! They don’t take reservations, so expect to wait a bit (but I promise it’s worth it). All of the seating is around the bar, so you get to watch the chefs make everything you eat. I’d recommend trying:• 5 hand roll combo; the Bay Scallop and Lobster were my favorite• Kanpachili Sashimi• Gindara Black Cod Nigiri• Salmon Belly NigiriWe can’t wait to come back again!Follow me on Instagram to see my journey in Texas, Dubai + beyond: @jennifer.rhima
Holy cow, this is absolutely the best sushi I have ever had.My experience at Hatsuyuki Handroll Bar started with being quickly greated and sat at the giant sushi bar. There is no tables or booths. The entire restaurant is one big sushi bar. I ordered a Miso Soup to start, and it was good. While I was sipping my soup, my first piece of sushi had arrived - a piece Salmon Belly. The salmon belly was absolutely fantastic. The chef even prepares all of your food right in front of you. I watched this man filet a fish, and then make my salmon belly. The presentation was phenomenal, and the flavor and texture of the fish was amazing. I asked what made this places salmon belly so amazing compared to Axiom or any of the other local places, and the chef stated that the fish at this restaurant is flown in DAILY from Japan. Absolutely stunning. And me being literally, actually stunned by how good the sushi was continued as I kept eating more. My Tuna Hand Roll wasn’t what I originally expected, but in a good way! The hand rolls here are prepared in a traditional Japanese method, not the American way we all know. And boy, it was good. Next up was the eel hand roll - once again I watched my chef prepare the food in front of me, and it was absolutely stunning. Eel is my favorite, and this place is the best eel I’ve ever had. Finally, when I thought I was finished eating, I struck up a conversation with my chef and found out one more little piece of fish to eat. He recommended the Chutoro, a fantastic tuna belly cut. The fish melted in my mouth, it was so tender and flavorful. I cannot believe how good this restaurant is!! I will be going back, at least once a week, to try new sushi. Please note: the pricing is a little more than other places. However, you are paying for the absolutely best sushi money can buy. I spent $26.90 today, before tip, and it’s worth it.
Tasty! we ate at one of the 2 outdoor tables. service was terrific.
Absolutely world-class. You can eat here on a budget sticking to their lunch specials or a few handrolls. But, I encourage you to go all-out and ask for omakase where the chef personally selects multiple items for you.Things that make Hatsuyuki Handroll Bar standout:* small but well appointed space has a great "vibe"* best sushi rice I've ever had* extremely high quality fish/meat - very fresh* deep selection (not just the same sushi you find at every other sushi place in DFW)* excellent fresh wasabi* attentive, skilled staffIf you don't go for omakase or handrolls, go to the back left and take a picture of the chalkboard of specials so you can study it at your leisure when seated (it's hard to read from a distance).I'm including photos from our omakase experience. It was absolutely stunning in presentation. Watching the chef carefully focus on our dining experience as he handcrafted each piece right in front of us was visually exquisite and indicated to our mouths the delights we were about to taste. You'll notice on some of these pictures some microcuts in the fish which were purposefully placed to heighten certain aspects of the sushi or add a light oil or ... whatever the chef felt was needed. We had oysters, tuna, snapper, scallops, uni and even true Japanese A5 wagyu!Let me also talk about the rice. I don't know the magic involved, but their rice is the BEST sushi rice I've ever experienced. And I eat a lot of sushi. I did not know you could elevate rice, but Hatsuyuki elevates rice. Soak that in for a moment. They actually care so much about every part of your experience, they figured out how to make rice part of the show in a meaningful way. Delicate, yet firm with a pleasant taste and perfect texture. Rice. Unbelieveable! The dining room is small so there is usually a wait. It's worth it. Go now. Seriously.3/29/22 Update: I'm not changing the score, yet, but I had my first bad experience at Hatsuyuki and it was completely based on very poor service that left me feeling unwelcome - in fact, I left rather than eat there. I'm hoping it was just one rogue employee and not reflective of a shift in their overall service. What happened? I received bad customer service and walked out. Unfortunate. I finished up a job down the street and went over for lunch - walked in at 1:40pm and the place was full but there were two dirty spots at the corner by the register. After 3-4 minutes someone came to greet me and I asked about those spots and he said, "bro, that'll take like 10 minutes to clean." I couldn't believe it! Even if you don't want to have a paying customer eat today, why would you leave dirty dishes sitting in front of your customers already seated? So I left and I'm disappointed. Lowering from 5 stars to 4 based on this experience and, they lost me as a customer.
As you can see from all the reviews. Probably the best sushi in Texas. You're not going to find your typical fancy rolls and combination like at your standard sushi shop. The star is truly the fish. They don't take reservations so be ready to wait. Also, they have a separate sake menu, so ask for it if you want some. They have standard daily hand rolls. But the stars are on the daily specials board. The wait/servers are 100% helpful and can really guid you navigate the menu options. 10/10 will be back!
First time in fort Worth and had the pleasure of eating at this awesome sushi bar! Did the 5 handrolls with 2 house special nigiri pieces (salmon belly and scallop). Our waitress Emily was nice and pleasure to talk to about recommendations within the fort Worth area to eat and drink. Any questions we had on the menu she addressed. The price we paid and the amount of sushi we got was great and I really enjoyed it! I'd this place was closer to Dallas it would be dangerous for me!! As I would come back all the time!
What can I say. The fish have been out of the water less than 48 hours. The menu depends on what was fresh that day. They make their own wasabi and soy sauce. You eat the hand rolls. With. Your. Hands. It is the best miso and sashimi you can get outside of NY and FL. There are no avocados to be seen. Period. Oh, and make sure to have at least one lobster roll :)
