This place is horrible I can't believe that black people think this food is good my granny chicken was better than this it's hard the veggies are not homemade they buy them in a plastic bag who does this

Got in town late and really wanted chicken. We walked into Gus’s 15 mins before closing and they treated us like we were the 1st customer of the day! Very friendly people, made all of our food fresh and it was delicious! This place is a MUST in Dallas!! Thank you guys for serving us at the end of your night!

Absolutely DELICIOUS! This is one of those little "hole in the wall" places that is BOMB DOT COM. I came with my Mom for lunch and we each got the 2 Piece Dark Snack and a small side (she got the mac & cheese, so creamy! I got the potato salad, a little on the sweet side but still really good). Then we split a piece of sweet potato pie and a scoop of ice cream. The chicken also came with 2 pieces of lightly toasted white bread.Overall, a really good and cheap meal!

Really good fried chicken with a spicy kick. We got there about a half hour before closing and the kitchen lost our order, but our server caught the mistake and we got a couple of extra wings for the extra wait. No one seemed to mind that we were still there while they closed up and our server continued to check on us. Highly, highly recommended.

Gus’s was fantastic fried chicken perfect spice level!! My husband gushed about how much he loved it. The fried okra tasted fresh, coleslaw was crunchy, and greens were perfect.

Good spot. Kinda pricey. I got a 3 piece chicken with macaroni and fries and it came to 14 bucks. I had it before in Atlanta and it was really good. I think the chicken I got today was kind of burnt. That's the only reason I gave it 4 stars. The place was packed when I went in though. Parking also kind of sucks.

Food is delicious. Best chicken in Ft. Worth. Chicken pieces are huge and the tenders were one of my favorites-also huge! If you haven’t been then you are missing out. Must go!

I know literally every single chicken place claims to be the best. World famous this. Legendary that. Mostly all just hype and advertising. This place is legit some of the best chicken over ever tasted in my entire life. Amazingly juicy. Perfect crunch on the skin without being too hard or too sharp. 100% coming back.

Got here on sunday morning just a few minutes before they opened. Food was so good! Chicken was piping hot, freshly cooked. Not super spicy. Server was friendly and refilled our drinks very often.

Gus was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Our fried pickles with dipping sauce was excellent, our chicken and Mac n cheese was delicious, and our sweet tea topped it off! We truly enjoyed ourselves and will DEFINITELY BE BACK! This is a cultural place so I loved that too! The building is older but has character with charm and it was clean (I do recommend a little renovation soon). I adored the old school goodies that played in the background as well. Another highlight was the EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE we received. I can’t remember her name but she truly has compassion and delightfulness in what she does! My only con was the frozen or canned greens. I lived in Memphis for 5 years and they serve fresh greens. As well the pecan pie tasted old and it definitely wasn’t fresh. I prefer whole pecans on my pie too instead of crushed (just my preference). Gus again, is truly a gem that everyone should try!
