Had a fantastic time/dinner here celebrating my son's birthday. Waitstaff and hostess were very friendly and accommodating. Margaritas were delicious.
had an amazing lunch here! food was great, everything tasted amazing. it was not packed during my lunch visit, so there was hardly a wait for the food. all staff was extremely friendly and the restaurant overall was clean and well taken care of. will return!
Food and drink are very good highly recommend this place food definitely wasn't Luke warm or cold good and hot frozen Marquarita ? just right I really enjoy Mother's Day dinner
Every time I go to El Fenix it seems like I'm the youngest customer there. The average age of the patrons looks to be about 50. In other words it's the place your grandparents go to when they want Tex-Mex. Having said that their food is good and the service is fast, and I mean REALLY fast. Whether you're going for enchiladas, chili relleno or tamales it doesn't matter, I haven't found a dish that I didn't like. Unfortunately the free hot sauce, while tasty, really doesn't have any heat to it.
I had dinner here the other night and it was very good! I got beef tamales a la carte and the tamales were delicious! If I were going to be in town longer, I would definitely go again.

Received chips and hot sauce upon seating. Drinks came quickly and after placing our order, so did the food. Couldn’t have asked for better service!!
We went here with 22 people for lunch after a memorial service. They let me make a reservation and followed up that morning because I was never able to get a set number of attendees.The two ladies that waited on us did a fantastic job! We had a room to ourself and I was able to move about the room and visit with each table.The food was great and they really did a great job. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a large group or for a table of two.Thank you for a wonderful meal and visit with family.
I am so disappointed that I cannot post a 5-star review because of one of your servers, Leticia. She was very rude to my friends when they asked her a question about their drinks, but was nice to me when I posed the same question. I noticed her change in attitude and tone towards them which made me angry so I asked to switch servers. Thankfully Manuel saved the day, please visit him if you are ever there. He is courteous, quick, and had some great recommendations for us. I am grateful to Manuel for saving the night because we were ready to leave due to Leticia’s tone & attitude. El Fenix I hope you take this review into consideration, thank you again Manuel you are great.
Old school and still quite tasty.?My first experiences at the original El Fenix in downtown Dallas range from sitting in high chairs to high school dates and then to lunches or dinners with my husband, friends and family get togethers consisting of seversl generations of El Fenix diners.El Fenix always bring back warm memories and after all these many years continues to serve excellent food.Still, their Juaez Plate is my go to favorite for my Tex-Mex fix. My parent's should have named me 'Taco' because of all the crispy beef and cheese tacos I have consumed in my lifetime!!!Also, check out their family specials for take away, great values and an excellent selection.Five ? ? ? ?? for their longevity and consistency.
