I went in to try the flights and bites on the Happy Hour menu and greeted at the door by a friendly hostess. My sever Luke was attentive but not intrusive, (just enough attention), and knowledgeable on the menu. It was a very nice experience and I will be back.
Disappointing visit if you’re also coming here for food. No greeting when you walk in. People looked confused and/or had to ask the bartender if it was free seating. Started out with some wine and appetizers which took forever to come out. Wine was good and fairly priced but that’s expected and hard to mess up given that it comes from bottles. Presentation on both the appetizers and entrees were substandard. We were considering a charcuterie board but the table next to us ordered one and it looked like a toddler may have put it together because of how poorly it looked. Service from waitress was okay. Wouldn’t recommend this place.
The food was really good, but the service was not great. We spent almost 3 hours here just trying to eat a simple dinner with wine and dessert. Our server was rather inattentive, and we had to immediately know what we wanted when he would walk by or we wouldn't get attention at all. Other servers seemed to be paying more attention to their tables while ours was drying dishes and doing other tasks and not checking on us. There is giving your patrons time/space to enjoy your meal, and then there is completely ignoring them unless they flag you down as you're speed-walking near their table. This was definitely the latter.
Great experience! Riesling flight was amazing. Cheese plate top notch as well. Went on a Friday night. Service was great. Waitress was extremely nice and attentive. Will definitely be back!
My Boyfriend and I decided to spend Mother’s Day at Crú , they had this wonderful eggs Benedict and lobster risotto and it was such a fun experience. Courtney took such great care of us!! Will definitely be going back again.
We enjoyed happy hour at Cru Food and Wine in the upscale Clearfork area of Fort Worth. Happy Hour runs Monday - Friday from 3:00 - 6:30 and includes $3.00 off each glass of wine or wine flights and several appetizers for $6.00 - $8.00 each: Wagyu Meatballs, Ahi Tartare, Goat Cheese Beignets, Fritto Misto and Margarita Pizza.Pros - Wine flights are served with a laminated card including the names and flavor profiles of each. We enjoyed the Ahi Tartare that was served on crisps with avocado, cucumber, tomato, cilantro and citrus olive tapenade - equal parts crispy, creamy and refreshing… but desperately needed some salt. We also enjoyed the Goat Cheese Beignets which arrived lightly fried, creamy inside, drizzled in honey and sprinkled with black pepper - a perfect bite of sweet and savory! The dinner menu consists of cheese flights, appetizers, pizzas, and five “favorites” which include fillet mignon, roasted chicken, shrimp, salmon and short rib. The seating areas include a full bar and an outdoor patio for people-watching. Take out orders are easy with a reserved parking spot by the front door. Perfect for girl’s night, birthdays, graduations or celebrations.Cons - The background music was a few notches too high for conversation, and one entire side of the restaurant, including the bar, was filled with people who where throwing a private party. The party was loud, the attendees were blocking the door going in/out to the patio area and allowing the air conditioning to go with them. While we still enjoyed our time, the party in this very small space was extremely overwhelming and the flow in and out of the front door/patio area created both a maze to get through and a fire hazard in an emergency. The Ahi Tuna lacked seasoning and there were no salt or pepper shakers on the tables. Service is on the slower side, especially when the servers are catering to big parties. Be sure to ask if they are hosting any big events when you call to make your reservations and reschedule your visit if so. Allow an additional 15 minutes to find a parking spot or to park in the parking garage as parking anywhere in Clearfork is a challenge.
A great place for Girls Night Out! We shared a couple of cheese flights, pizza and all had wine. Our waitress was very accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable.Update: We celebrated my birthday at Cru this week. It was fun with a group trying different wines. They have expanded the menu since we were there before. Great service from our waiter!
We were so excited to try this place but unfortunately we had the worst experience. We arrived before 5 other couples and they all got greeted and served before us. We were just waiting looking around us for someone to even acknowledge us. We waited over 30 minutes for someone to come and greet us and even then they forgot about us. This wouldn’t had been a problem if they were taking the same time with everyone else but it was just us, the only Hispanic couple in that place at that time. We were paying customers just like everyone else in that restaurant. Yet, they treated us like we didn’t even exist. We felt discriminated and embarrassed. We had to stand up and walk away because of how embarrassed we were. Even everyone around us noticed. We were willing to spend our hard working money at this restaurant but I’m glad we didn’t get the chance to.
Came here for my 5 year anniversary with my girlfriend and had a great experience. Loved the atmosphere and the quick service. Everything tasted amazing and will definitely be returning to try more items on the menu!
I’ve been to CRU a few times and while it’s nothing spectacular, the food and wine options are enjoyable. The menu is not extensive but they have some good small plates. Most recently I had the salmon over leeks and that was very nice. Lots of wine options of course. It’s a cozy little gathering spot.
