It was our 20 year anniversary. We had heard about the Drover Hotel and we drove from Dallas for cocktails and dinner.
Food was amazing as always and the service was also great. I would suggest that anyone who does come in just for lunch be able to valet for free. Parking is hard enough in the stockyards and the meals are not cheap here but to add a $10 valet with additional tip for a two hour meal it gets to be more than itâs worth. Every hotel I have been for better dinner or lunch has validated the parking for at least 2-3 hour stay.
Usually excellent in all respects but last night service was slow and food was not prepared well: my steak was cold, my guestâs chicken was undercooked and had to be sent back.
Great atmosphere and outstanding food and service!
The food was very mediocre, especially for the high price. Our reservation was for 6:30, and we received our entrees at 8:30 and they were not hot. Makes you wonder if there was a problem in the kitchen.
The Drover is an exceptionally designed property with a great feel and ambiance. Unfortunately the service as a whole was rather poor. From the second we walked in the main doors the two hostesses that were at the podium offered no greeting and had the appearance of smugness that we were actually hoping to eat at the restaurant on Sunday at 12:30. I approached and said we had a reservation under my name. We were slightly early and they said we would have to wait until the 12:45 reservation time. Nothing else. I inquired about being sat in the bar area for the three of us for my Mom's 82nd birthday. One of the girls said she might be able to make that happen. The other girl said that they had just sat that server and it could be a little while. I said no problem. We went to the bar area to order a cocktail and the service gets worse. I stood patiently at the bar for over 10 minutes before ever being greeted. And the oddest part was the manager that was assisting the two bartenders, once he was done helping them he just looked at me three or four times and never offered any service. Odd. Finally one of the bartenders took our order and we waited for another ten minutes to be sat in a section that had no one seated in it. The hostess never came to tell us we could sit down or that it would be any longer. Once seated it got a little better. The server, Nick, was the only bright spot for the day. He was polished, responsive and a quality server. We ordered and the food came out pretty quickly. The frittata was great. The hash was good. The tacos were ok. We'd go here again, but probably not for brunch. I think it's a cocktail and a bite at the bar at best. It does have a great feeling and look. Maybe the service will get better over time as they find workers who want to work and understand the service industry. Cheers
My wife and I had a great Sunday brunch. Annette was great. The pork belly shareable was amazing, as was the cinnamon roll. The unique food and also the location in the Fort Worth Stockyards made for a great birthday brunch celebration.
Ambience and service were amazing! Food was very good. Food portions for what you are paying were a little small. Desert opinions were limited. I personally think that $5.00 for iced tea is too much. Overall I really liked it and will go back.
Great food and service!!!
