The manager, Luke, was super attentive and very personable and professional. He apologized for being short staffed and right away said we’ll have a free dessert because of our wait. Being short staffed is a problem everywhere right now, so we weren’t concerned on the wait, so his gesture was a manager doing a good job to keep customers returning. We eat on the patio and with cooling fans, it really wasn’t that bad on a 85° night. The chips and salsa were great! We ordered on the appetizer menu and it was delicious. We love restaurants with water in the area, so we’ll definitely be returning! We’ll also return because we know Luke is trying really hard to turn the place around! He’s off to a great start so far. I’ve decided the poor ratings on here are because people tend to focus on the negative more than the positive. Was your experience really a 1-star rating? Come on!
Perfect location, amazing food, kind and attentive staff. Absolutely delicious Tex-Mex plates. I chose a personal favorite for my first visit; the Chile Relleno with the spiced beef added. It had such a full flavor and was a large portion, perfectly cooked Chile that was not too soft, but not crunchy. I visited almost right at 6pm, but still only had to wait for about a half hour to get my meal, and I spent that quality time out on the patio next to the river, enjoying the view. This was a great experience overall and I'm looking forward to return and try everything on the menu. Delicious.
I will qualify this review by stating that I was a Food and Beverage Manager of a prominent Intercontinental Hotel. My wife and I live in the River Walk area waited forever for these restaurants to open, and wanted so badly for them to be good. We are sorely disappointed. The service is terrible and the servers are incredibly poorly trained, this is a managerial issue.*Dirty bar, food bits and drink residue*Utensils and glasses left on bar for too long after customers left (patrons didnt sit at dirty seat (wasted opportunity)*bar codes on all liquor bottles tacky and visually ugly*tacos for me and wife served on one plate, no side plates til we asked*soup served no spoon, had to ask*asked for no cilantro on tacos, served with pico on top with cilantro and then told it comes with it in it...do I still want it or to remake...silly question*Ordered 4 extra tacos with flour tortillas, only came out with 3, then delivered 4th with corn tortilla.*why is dishwasher in front bar, all servers bringing dirty glasses up for washing, collection of dirty glasses on bar, very noisy.*no beer on tap? Only cans?*Servers seemed to not know what they were doing, and too much fraternizing.*Menus had guac and crumbs inside and out. Dirty. Both of them.*server served wife's soup to us at the bar by walking inside bar and leaving it on bar mat, nearly out of reach of wife. Why not walk up to her and serve her on her side to right in front of her.*Two front hosts chatting and having fun, taking selfies, not professional.*table behind host stand had dirty rags and cleaning spray whole time we were there as a resting place.*phone chargers (assuming from hostess and host) left plugged in at front entrance.*server of bar top had to ask bartender when happy hour ended (how do you not know?!)*Nakpins and straw wrappers on floor all around the bar, why are servers and managers not tidying up?
This was our second time to visit Primos. We came right after they opened and did not have a good experience, but hoped some time and experience would help. Unfortunately, it did not. The service was inexcusably slow, and the food was overcooked and served at room temperature at best. We will not be back, and recommend you save yourself the trouble and disappointment.
A group of friends and I decided to try this place, even though it is still new. All in all, nothing was exceptional. It took a long time before someone came by our table to ask if we needed anything (15-20 minutes), even though the place was nearly empty. We had called ahead to ask about patio dining and were told it was open. Upon arrival, we were told we had about 90 minutes before the patio was needed for a party. There were a couple of highlights: the spicy version of their salsa was tasty, and the house frozen margarita was better than expected. Our server was very friendly. I had two brisket enchiladas that were ordinary and a pork one that was good. One companion had beef fajitas that he described as ‘disappointing’. We were reminded that we needed to leave towards the end of our meal. I would like to see this restaurant succeed for the sake of the neighborhood, but this isn’t how you do it. I would normally give a newly opened restaurant a pass for the first couple of weeks, but Refined Hospitality Concepts is in the business of opening restaurants. I don’t see any good reason to go back.
Decided to try the new place out as it has been open about a month.I was very surprised by the reasonable priced food. The drink prices were also extremely reasonable (house frozen margaritas). I expected 2x the price! The staff was very friendly and attentive (our kids ran through the chips and they refilled them without being asked / before the bowl ran dry). The food came out amazingly fast and was very good.I think we've found our new go-to Mexican food spot!
Cool location and great patio for those who prefer to sit outside. It took a long time to get seated and a while for our server to attend to us, but she was kind and personable once she arrived. We only had drinks on the patio, so I can’t speak to the quality of the food, but the drinks very delightful. Expect to pay a pretty penny for your drinks, but they are lovely and can be enjoyed alongside the river walk views.
Agree with other reviewers. The chips & salsa are great, the ambiance is great, the food is just ok.I think for now this may be a great happy hour spot!
Went today, got great service and enjoyed the lunch veggie fajitas. Big portions, nice flavors and at lunch time it was only $10. Lovely restaurant on thw Riverwalk in Flower Mound.
I’ll start with positives. Very attentive staff. Waiter was great! Drinks were good. Chips & salsa some of the best. Everything else was awful. I would rather eat Taco Bueno. Asade taco was so much Grisle. Crunchy taco meat was just funky. Bacon guacamole was just so much onion it was not tolerable. Queso tastes like sour cream. Enchilada was so tough couldn’t even cut into. Cilantro rice was so gross! Like how?! So disappointed especially because staff was so great.
