I’d give this less than 1 star if I could. Got catering from this restaurant and it absolutely ruined the event for me. Every item had more gravy than food. The butter chicken was mostly sauce, we had to be fishing for the tiny chicken pieces in it. Plus it was completely sweet and there was no buttery flavor. The portions were a joke. It’s clear that theyre doing anything possible to cut their costs. A disappointing rip-off. Genuinely exceeded my expectations of how badly a restaurant can fail. I genuinely suggest, go anywhere else for Indian

I have been to ISTA many times in past. I was out of country for two years. When I came back Flower Mound I was eager to go back to ISTA. I i USED TO liked their brunch best UNDER PREVIOUS OWNER.This time to my surprise the food was terrible. There was no ice water, no pickle (must for Indian meal). The quality was poor and there were many items missing from the previous owner’s menu. The taste was not Indian at all.I asked the waiter – who is cook now? He told me that this new cook is Bangladeshi. These people don’t know how to cook north Indian or Pakistani dishes.Since they can not have customers with Bangladeshi name, they use Indian and Pakistani names. The food is horrible and now I go to India 101 in Irving for super food.

At my reluctance, I went with my wife to Ista. It had been some time since we were there last, but I never did enjoy the food. Since it was Sunday, it was a buffet. Apparently, under new ownership the buffet was wonderful. Food was well seasoned, fresh and very tasty. The lamb kabob was not expected, but well appreciated. Would recommend giving them a try again, we will be back.

Exceptional!I had the Chicken Biryani. It was awesome! Especially with the bowl of red sauce that comes with it. Hint. Request to double the red sauce it's that good! The chicken was properly cooked and not dry.I walked in for the first time and wondered what do I do? So meander on up to the desk then be seated. Use your phone for the menu. Then walk back to the desk to order. There's only two maybe three people working there so they are swamped. Once you order the food is quick to arrive. No alcohol. No tea. Just water or canned soft drinks.

Surprised at the reviews here. This is the worst tasting food. Chicken tikka piece is about 2 inches in size and rubbery. Had to chew chew and chew. CouldNot even eat 1 piece completely. Chicken jalfrezy with spice level of 4/5 is sweet. As soon as you enter the restaurant you get a stale smell. Sorry but this is a Frank review.

Always supper yummy and reasonably priced. The ambiance is ok but the food makes up for that. Lots of people get to go orders or 3rd party delivery.Make sure to get extra garlic nan.

I want to start off that i loved indian food at Ista. That was my goto place for indian food. Past few months, the food started tasting bad, chicken is dry in biryani or there is mostly just white rice in biryani, etc. Nowadays the food is consistently not good, so I no longer want to suggest people to go here like I used to in the past.

Best and perfect buffet in Texas taste flavours and aroma is unbelievable as if we are having food in our own country ???

I'm from NYC and missed really good Indian Food. I've been selfish. I found this gem a couple years ago and wanted to keep it to myself! :) This is the best place to get Indian food in the local FM area...so far, it's also my favorite in Dallas. I've converted two people into Indian Food lovers by ordering from Ista!First time? Order takeout! Here are my recommendations:-Best Vegetarian Appetizer: Chat Samosa (I remove the onions but Tamarind Sauce and Cilantro Chutney is a must for me)-Best Meat app: Chicken 65-Best Entree: Chicken Tikka Masala with rice but order butter Naan on the side too!Other must-have favorites: Parathas and extra naan, Extra Tamarind SauceGreat portion sizes for the price and they have definitely improved their service over the last few years. I miss the pre-covid buffet where the chef made special dishes but happy they are open! I guess the best kept secret is out now!

The Gobi Manchurian and paneer butter masala was very good. Fire kabob not do much, it was a little dry.
