In a world where it seems there is an ordinary Mexican or TexMex Restaurant on every corner, this restaurant sets the standard at the upper end of he quality scale. The minute you want in, you can tell that they are a step above in terms of ambiance, service and food quality. We were taking friends from out of state to experience a DFW level TexMex experience. On there last vist here we selected another well know restaurant and had been very disappointed. Gloria’s does not disappoint. The drinks were flavorful and appropriately strong. The chips and dips (both salsa and mole) were both excellent. And our meals were top level. I particularly liked my fish tacos, and I am a bit of a fish tack snob. Service was also excellent with our chip basket and water glasses never empty, but also she never hovered. Pacing of drinks and food was perfect. When we have more out of state visitors, I believe Gloria’s will be on our list again.
Really liked the food. I mean really liked it. The chips and salsa + bean dip (omg the bean dip is amazing and my wife who doesn’t like beans liked it!) was so good! Even beyond the good appetizers, the main courses were delicious and came to the table quickly. The staff was also super fast, friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were clean and overall the experience was great.
The black bean dip was good, the salsa was okay. I didn't really like the rice or the refried beans that came with my enchiladas. It was also unnecessarily expensive.I will say that I was the only one at my table that felt that way. Everyone else loved it.
While I wouldn’t recommend their breakfast options, the other menu items are delicious!
Coming from a Latino background, I can certainly say that I know what Latin food should taste. Gloria’s has yet to disappoint. The service is exceptional, the staff will certainly make you feel welcome and at home. The food is the perfect blend of home and high end restaurant. All the taste of home and none of the cleanup. The ceviche trio gives just enough of each type to give your fill. Our favorite would also be the nachos grandísimo where each nacho is filled with enough beef and chicken, cheese and black beans to cover the triangle perfectly. Add guacamole, sour cream and salsa and it’s perfection. Next would be the Maduro’s with black beans and sour cream. Now where I’m from this would be a travesty but here it is decadent.
The margaritas are delicious. The food is great. The service is top notch.
Consistently excellent Salvadoran and SalvaTex dishes. Prompt and friendly service. This location is better than the other two I've visited in Dallas.
Pleasing to the eyes and good food. Service excellent. Salvadoran type foods, many choices. The cheese dip is delicious, salsa spicy, chips very good.
I like the Dallas location better, but it was ok. The girl at the front (dark hair without glasses) seemed bothered by seating customers and disappeared without saying much. Once seated, our server (Dario) was great & attentive. My Carne Flameada was lukewarm and mediocre, but I didn’t alert my server. I just ate a little of it, as I needed to get my kiddos fed and back home to get their showers & to bed for the night. Yuca was ok, but seasoned more heavily than I like.
Beautiful patio ambiance and even better margaritas. They can accommodate large parties and their bean sauce is too good. This is the only place I know that serves papusas. Yummy!
