Thought we'd try it out for dinner tonight. Walked in there were 1/2 dozen tables with patrons. The woman behind the bar saw us and said we could sit anywhere. We took a seat at one of the tall tables(yes, they're all tall with wooden barstools). Waited for about 5 minutes. 2 other couples came in and sat on either side of us. Shortly after the waitress came by and gave them both menus - walking right by us with no acknowledgement. We left.
My husband and I stopped in for an early dinner. The restaurant is gorgeous and very clean. The service was friendly and fast! And the food was delicious! We had the pretzel bites, the fish and chips and the chicken bacon ranch sandwich. The “potato scoops” with the fish and chips were a tasty, unique take on fries. And the ghost pepper cheese on the chicken sandwich was amazing! We will definitely be back sooner than later!
I wanted SO much to return to the amazing selections we enjoyed last year, the cheese, jam, nuts, bread, wine. So disappointed that all the things we loved about the market are gone. The sliders were great, but without the cheese/meat/nut selections, we will not come back. I am not interested in a cheese platter that includes ghost pepper cheese. Where is the Brie? The baguettes? I hate it when my favorite restaurants are gone.
Austin Hope at the best price in town! Can’t beat the food and service!
Came in at 9pm and they said they close at 10 so their kitchen is closed… clearly they wanted to get out of there early- I’ll save them the time and never come back… if you don’t like lazy- don’t visit here
Oh my God what can I say about BARREL 99 not only the environment and the service is amazing and their wonderful wine selection but the food the food is so amazing. I recommend the fish-and-chips and the wagon sliders they are very juicy and the chips that come with it oh my God SO GOOD. I recommend this place fully. I'll be back for more.
I stopped and had lunch. The burger was good and the hand made chips were also good. They are just opening so I look forward to seeing additions to the menu.Staff very friendly. Appears to be an upscale sports bar...
I just went to Makarsee and they were closed. They had paper on the windows and door and a sign stating that they were temporarily closed. I hate to give them a 1-star review, but Google said they were open.I promise to update my review once they re-open and I can give a fair review. Until then, I strongly recommend they update their business hours on Google and other platforms so that others don't waste their time.
Great service and selection. The charcuterie board was good. Being able to try a wide variety of wines was helpful in nailing down our selections. I do wish they had some beers on tap too.
What a great little hidden gem! My wife and I went there to try it out in the evening after spotting it recently. The ambiance, décor, staff, food, and wine were all fantastic. We loved their charcuterie platter, which you get to choose all your own favorite meats, cheeses and more; rather than get someone else's choice. And what an amazing selection of TEXAS wines! Who knew there were so many! And that they would actually be GREAT! We tried the "Ranch Hand" by Blue Ostrich Winery was fabulous! We couldn't have asked for a nicer evening, and we will surely be back for more! Give them a try, and be surprised by the Texas wines, and locally produced food products.
