I came before closing, the staff r friendly. Serving size could be small for most people, a good place for a quick bite if u r looking for something lite and not greasy
Every time I order -and PAY - online, they never start the food until AFTER I get there. I order ahead for a reason. This last visit it took over an hour to get my food. No, it wasn’t busy. I counted the people in line, there was 5 and ALL of them obviously ordered after me (seeing as I ordered online and then drove over there) and all of them got their food before. It wasn’t until I went up a third time that they got my food ready. No apology, no reason given. This place isn’t cheap. I would at least expect some courteous service. I will not give this place another dime.
Let me start by saying I could tell everyone was pretty new here, so the rating isn’t as low as I would have probably rated if they had been around for long time. I will definitely try again next time I’m in town to give it another chance and update the review. Here is why Sushi Freak only gets three stars for now…Pros: Cute little sushi eatery that is aesthetically pleasing. It is pretty roomy, even for being a little crowded when we were there. The staff, albeit seemed pretty new, were very friendly and seemed to be really trying. My husband enjoyed his roll, he got the New Mexican Roll.Cons: I got the Crunch Roll (a typical roll at most sushi restaurants). I was not impressed for a couple reasons, the first being that the seaweed was tuff, which is typically a sign of it not being as fresh as it should be. Secondly the panko crunch had an odd flavor, it seemed either old or maybe left out too long? The egg rolls tasted like any frozen egg roll and wasn’t bad, just wasn’t something I would order again. As shown in the photo, the ginger was scarce, literally two small pieces were put on my tray. Lastly, the tray itself had a film on it, like it was washed but then dried with a dirty towel, and since there were a lot of people in line, I believe they were rushing so the plating was quite messy.I reiterate, I believe a lot of this is due to new employees learning, especially could tell this in the cashier who was having some issues and being trained. I would absolutely come back to give a second chance once a bit of the newness wears off.
This place is amazing. Already me and my family’s 3rd time eating here this week. I enjoy the service and definitely love the food.
I love the fistbump sushi burritos, it has all the ingredients I love and it’s a lot. Their sushi burritos are worth a try. I love their tempura too, but the calamari is what I’m not really impressed with. I could barely taste the calamari. The staffs are nice too!
I know that it is an assembly line place, but the food is overpriced for it to just taste obviously processed. Not the best.
Counter service. Helpful and friendly staff. Big tables but only about nine of them. Seafood is always fresh. Fried Calamari had a bit too much batter...tempura? Unique rolls and burritos all deserve a try.
Super delicious!! Super friendly staff. First time eating at Sushi Freak and the staff member was very helpful and suggested favorites. Will definitely be back for more!
Food was awesome! Employees still training so it takes a little bit worth the wait!
Given that this is a new location it makes sense why the workers are slightly disheveled and lack communication with each other. We did get a piece of foil in our sushi and they were incredibly professional and polite about the mistake and created a brand new one for us. The burrito is surprisingly filling, I really enjoyed mine. But I think where you get most bang for your buck would be the bowl order. I do recommend to check out. It's clean inside and yummy food!
