The place was very clean, although the decor is very outdated, it was nice. Took my kids, and we ordered broccoli beef, sesame chicken and the duck for lunch. The broccoli beef was very good and the chicken was very crunchy and sauce was good. Portions are generous for the lunch special. The only item that wasn't great was the duck. The first two dishes were served, and then a 10+ minute wait for the duck to arrive afterwards. I honestly thought that it had managed to escape an fly away.Once it arrived, it was ok. I ordered it with fried rice. There was nothing special about the rice, all it had was soy sauce, and nothing else. The duck, which I am guessing, was frozen, was kept on ice for longer than what it should. The meat, although was well seasoned, was tougher than what I had duck before. At least the skin was nice and crispy.Good food, but you might want to skip on the duck, and order something else from the menu
Came on a quiet night with my husband. We ordered fried wings to start. They were at best a 6/10. When they say 8 pieces they mean 8 pieces, not 8 wings. Plus they are served with crinkle cut French fries (not mentioned , random and unnecessary). My husband's chicken teriyaki was super salty. Fried rice and egg soup was sub par. Overpriced for this experience honestly.
Terrible food. The fried rice wasn't fried, it was steamed and colored brown. Tasted like mush. No carrots or peas and barely tip of egg in it. The Hunan Shrimp had 4 shrimp in it. The rest was squash and carrots. It looked like a vegetable plate. The Beef Broccoli was gooey with beef flavored gravy. Save you time and money. Go to Li's Cafe off Sunland Park instead.
Food was very good. I think this was the best Chinese food I've had since moving here. All leftovers were gone the next day.
Where my Chinese friends go to eat Chinese food. Why do I love Sun Garden? So many reasons...Lunch specials are so inexpensive and deliciousCrispy eggplant ("eggplant french fries" we tell my five year old who loves them) with a dipping sauce to die forThe (real) Chinese menu. Oh man. So good.Whether from the Chinese or the Americanized Chinese menu, the food has flavors from the food items themselves, not just from the salt/sugar/MSG/etc that typically characterizes Chinese restaurants.Very accommodating for large groups. I've hosted several large gatherings including birthday parties here and the service is great especially considering there's usually only one server making it all happen.
Best food ever! The best choice you’ll make today if you are thinking of eating here. No doubt best Chinese within a thousand miles. Great service!
I recommend the vegetables and tofu and the sweet and sour chicken dishes.
Some of the best Chinese food I've had in a while, especially their chicken wings and sweet and sour chicken. The only thing I didn't like was their chow mein which to me actually tasted worse than Panda Express's. Can't go wrong with any item as I went and got buffet style with my boss who paid for it all.
I asked for hot tea, and they offered Jasmine, Oolong, and Green. I got the oolong and really liked it. I got the egg drop soup and could taste the chicken broth. I like that their wonton strips were fresh and not from a can.The Chinese broccoli was delightful. Oyster sauce a bit salty maybe, but when I ate it with rice or my beef chow fun, it was great. Broccoli was nice n crisp tender. Not over-cooked but not over-done.The beef chow fun was just what I was looking for. I would definitely order it again, but next time I want to try the pan fried noodles. Beef was tender. Noodles weren't soggy. The dish wasn't swimming in grease or sauce. The noodles soaked up the sauces nicely. My bill was high, but that was to be expected. This is El Paso. They have to ship these ingredients from far away! I am so glad I found this place.
My family and I dined here last night. Despite being short staffed we had wonderful service and a delicious meal. All of our food was fresh and tasty. We had bao, shrimp fried rice, lemon chicken, cashew chicken and vegetable tempura. Their chicken dishes were made with chicken breast and lots of fresh veggies. We enjoyed our experience very much and will be back.
