Speaking Rock is located on the Isleta Pueblo in El Paso. The outdoor venue is very cool with plenty massive TV screens, a stage and plenty of seating. The Casino is a decent size but lacks table games, no Players Cards, no draft beers and only one food option. The Sidewalk Cafe is basically a fast food place with a variety of options. I must say they made a delicious bacon and cheese burger. Whatever the seasoning was it was delicious. There were plenty of slots and a good variety. I liked the idea that 90% of the casino was nonsmoking. The smokers had an area just for them.
Kind of disappointed there were no card tables or player cards for customers. Most casino's will have player cards and then after so much money spent, offer comps. Also disappointed there was only one place to eat, although the food was decent; it would have been nice to go to an actual restaurant. No draft beer at all?! Unheard of really...
Great place to come and have fun, also earn money! Everything at this place is clean and comfortable ?
The idea for entertainment is good. Only accept cash.Not enough sitting area outside during concert.Several bars were not open. Food area is in between outdoor venue and casino.... You literally have to go around in people who are in line or through the line.Bathrooms were not cleaned. Saw toilet paper and paper towels on the floor(wet and mushy)People were smoking in the outside venue area where the band was playing.
It is difficult for me to make this review. I am not really a gambler. And Speaking Rock Casino is all about gambling machines. I speak from my own perspective and experiences there.It is one of the places where most locals gather to gamble and to listen to live music. The times that I have been there it has been mostly to go and listen live bands outside and Mariachis on Sundays.I have been there other times when local bands play outside during the week. But just recently I went to listen to Chubby Checker. The outside beer garden was divided in different sections to the point where people were not dancing. I couldn't belive it because Chubby Checker's music is an invitation to dance. The set up was just not right for dancing.The place has a bar section outside mostly for beer. It is inside where they serve more mixed drinks. The staff is very efficient trying to keep the place super clean.The events are free and the food is actually very good. Everything there is well structural and one feels safe because the place has high security.
I wish I could rate this zero stars. The machines are so tight! It’s damn near impossible to win money in this place. These are not real slot machines— the are electronic bingo/ class2 gaming. The casino choses the pay schedule and don’t have report…I seldom see people win much. Don’t waist your time and money. The staff is so rude. They make you get off the machine so abruptly when they need to do regular maintenance. They don’t give you like 20 minutes notice like high-end casinos. They come at moments notice to say “please cash out” and they mean asap. If you need a handpay, usually can’t find a staff member walking around. The service is terrible. The only good service is the bar and the concession stand/mini restaurant. The breakfast and tacos are actually pretty good but that’s about it. They don’t serve beverages on the floor, you have to leave your machine to get a drink. Parking is horrible.
Speaking rock has a great set up for their events. Great shows, big screen tv's everywhere!! Highly recommend checking out the free shows and casino itself!!
Very clean and people were respectful. Security was quick to handle problems that arose before they became a chain reaction. The outdoor venue was very nice, the fountain added a perfect overall tone to set the mood of the area. I loved it and will visit again?
Our experience was way much better this time, since the past few years. I still dislike the fact that you have to cash your tickets before going to a different group because your tickets have to be from the same machine sponsors.or vendors. Other than this on going program . I was refreshing to see new machines. The machines that provide several choices of games to play though were some what tricky and would take your money right away.
Had fun but when we got the shrimp cocktail it tasted old. And like they added new shrimp to an old cocktail. We threw them away. Ugh it tasted like dish water smells. But other than that i had alot of fun
