Definitely enjoyed!!! Such a comfort being able to eat something that reminded me of home. I loved it any my Babygirl enjoyed it so much!!
This was everything in southern comfort I needed! The ribs fell off the bone, the brisket was so tender and down right amazing. She was so busy and managed so well. The greens were so phenomenal the catfish would literally make you slap your mama. If we weren't on our way out of El paso I would be back.
Amazing food and relaxed atmosphere. Legit homemade tasting soul food. All the meats fall right off the bone, mac and cheese has a beautiful cheese stretch, rib meat would fall off as i was picking it up. Highly recommend
Not good at all. Chicken was very dry and corn bread was stale. The potato salad tasted store bought, not southern cooking what so ever. I paid $18 to eat a dry old meal.
This was out first time eating here and it was just ok I expected more for the price. The brisket was dry and you could tell they reheated in microwave before serving our order came with a muffin and it was dry and old. The ribs were pretty good but I don't think I would come back. We also ordered carrot cake to go also very dry!
Do Not Recommend! I got Catfish (1 piece$9.00) had no taste and baked chicken (1 piece $9.00) Sides $4.50 each was bland tasteless the greens were dry or out of a can no flavor yuck, the cornbread was dry it was not fresh probably had been sitting there for a couple of days, Mac & Cheese had no flavor okra was just nasty. So very disappointed! Very pricey! & my stomach was messed up for 2 days
Only one star because zero wasn’t an option worst fake southern food ever!! Fried chicken was a chicken breast that was dry, muffin was hard, my cat fish was undercooked, Mac and cheese was old and dry! Only thing good was the dang koolaid Never will I be back my nose still hurts from over use of fabuloso waste of money!! And now I’m nauseous ho to Popeyes if you want chicken and Mac and cheese smh!!
As soon as I walked in I was greeted and welcomed...?I ordered macaroni and cheese, collard greens, black eyed peas and corn bread to go. I must say, the food is delicious!... The Hospitality was great too. It was so homey that I became nostalgic. Tastes like my childhood friend granny's food. Great food, great memories.
Food was HORRIBLE. Ordered in January 1,2021. They charged me $9 for ONE PORK CHOPwhich was very small. Greens came straight out the can. My potatoe salad was very RUNNY and not settled. Dressing was PLAIN and dry. I will never order from here again. I love supporting black businesses but not this one
I like southern style or soul food. Had some in Chicago. Super good. This place was ok. Try it one time. I had okra- so fried it was just crunchy. Plain mac and cheese. Also had the collard greens. They were good. Carrot cake was excellent. Main course was smothered pork chop. It was ok. My main issue was the price. My son and I had two entrees (he had chicken and waffle), an extra side and two desserts. We each had water. With 15% tip it was almost $60. I knew it was our first and last time so give it a try if you want. I think this place will not last due to price. Some man was in there complaining about the price too.
