I love dining at Shan Dong, never a disappointment when visiting here. We are regulars at this restaurant, and I must say what keeps us coming back is their friendly and hardworking employees! They always provide fast service, and make sure that we are taken care of! The food is always on point, hot, tasty, and the size of servings per plate are awesome! Definitely look forward to taking our long drives from the Westside of town just to join our in-laws for dinner when it comes to Shan Dong!! The Flores family thanks you for your great service, keep up the good work!!??
Prior two visits were very disappointing. Poor service the main problem. Last night I’d decide to give it a 3rd chance. Mind you that I’ve been a very steady patron for almost 20 years. Last night was strike 3 for me. No welcome smile, no nice to see you again, no greeting at all. Reluctance to explain the menu as I asked for Orange Shrimp. Server muttered only orange chicken. I said you’ve done it for me before. I ordered hot Jasmine to to warm me up…it came out tepid at best. I ordered egg roll for an appetizer. Cold to the core…yesterday’s batch. Then my beef with snow peas…a huge portion came out with half a bowl of sticky white rise. THEN the main course was cold, too, in spots. The gravy was still gelatinous. I could go on and on but the final assault was my bill of $n24.99. I’m serious. Sooooo never again for me. I’m now at Teppanyaki and for $13.71 behold the difference!
This place was incredible. My friends and I were looking for a new Chinese cuisine spot and decided to come here. The service was great, the staff always had a smile on their face and was very hospitable and attentive (despite there being a shortage on people.) The atmosphere was tranquil and relaxing even. The food was amazing, honestly it was so good, we all enjoyed the plates we got and it is absolutely worth the price (which isn't even that expensive to be honest.) Anyway, I 100% recommend this place to everyone and anyone, I will definitely be coming back.
I gave even enjoying this restaurant for many years and it's been my go to for Chinese but I haven't eaten in here in over 3 years mostly due to the pandemic. The service is always good but I'm sorry to say the food is not as good as it used to be. The fried rice was cold and under cooked and the egg foo yung was rubbery and tasteless. The hot and sour soup was still excellent. The servers do a great job even though they are very short staffed. I will go back but won't get the egg dish.

What a disappointment this place has turned out to be. They open only for friends at their convenience. They close on Tuesday and I went today Monday the 8th and they were closed for a private party. Last 3 time we went we had to go in to order because they never answered the phone. I'm done with this place there happens to be a few other great Chinese restaurants around so no more Shan Dong.
I am still on the hunt for a great Chinese restaurant in El Paso and decided to check this place out a few weeks ago. It was actually really disappointing. I ended up ordering the Moo Goo Gai Pan - chicken with fried rice. This came with an order of egg drop soup and egg roll. I liked that they sat me right away and when I ordered my sprite I liked that they gave me a small pitcher so I wouldn’t be without something to drink and they use paper straws. The egg roll soup was ok and warm at least. The egg roll was actually really good and I enjoyed eating it.The fried rice was a disappointment and I didn’t eat it. It didn’t have a good flavor and was bland. The Moo Goo Gai Pan chicken was also bland and had hot spots and cold spots. To top everything off, everything came out within 5 minutes of ordering so I didn’t have time to enjoy my soup and egg roll before my entree came out. Over all, I won’t go back and on the search for my favorite Chinese spot continuous.
Super clean. Fantastic food. Consistent. I have been going here for over 10 and have loved it every time.
I always have a great experience. The staff is wonderful. And the food is awesome.
Ate with a group, food was good. Good portions. Do recommend
