It was a slow Sunday night for the restaurant and it was only us and 2 other tables. The service wasn't good at all, it took about 15 minutes to try and find Linda our server to pay and then we got charged for a different tab. With it being our first time, it definitely will be the last and it's disappointing because the coconut sushi was something I've never tried and it was my favorite which I have yet to find somewhere else.
Rice was dry and over pressed on the rolls, nigiri, and the shrimp teriyaki plate. The highway roll had almost no crab in it, and had no discernable amount of eel in it and completely forgot to put the sauce on it. The pirate roll was the best of the sushi, but still fell flat because of the rice. Salmon slices for the nigiri had good portion and tasted fresh, also suffered from the rice. The eel nigiri was terrible with almost no grilled eel on it, had no sauce at all, and again, the rice. The gyoza dumplings were good, along with the dipping sauce served with it. The shrimp tacos were quite bland, even with everything on it. There was a mild improvement to them when I substituted the chipotle sauce for yum yum sauce and siracha. The service also lacked quite a bit, and the server never delivered wasabi to the table as requested. Overall, I would not recommend this establishment for a lunch. Dinner service might be a bit better. Their alcoholic beverages are good.
Highlight: Nice chill / laid back place. If you like eating your food in peace, I've had that several times here. You get your bang for your buck for how much food you can order.I usually experience this store with a friend so we can try a couple of different rolls. The Ramen has good value for how much you can get! It comes with a bad of $5 and then you choose your add-ons.
Came for the discounted sushi on Wednesdays. The sushi was fine but I definitely wouldn't come again because of their shady business practices. A drink is required for the sushi deal, which is no biggie, but refills are $3 each. However, that's not on the menu nor was it mentioned by the server. She just kept coming by and asked if I wanted a refill. When I got the check I was charged $15 for the refills of coke between the two of us. At the end of it I wish I would have just went to a better sushi place. It came out pretty expensive for very mediocre sushi. So if the food isn't a good deal and the sushi isn't particularly good, whats the point of coming here? Hope they at least are more transparent to their customers in the future.
Sushi is good food is good all around the environment is very relaxed the only thing is the guy who waits on the table is horrible I kept on having to get uo and ask him for stuff
Sushi rolls are good, but tried crab cakes and they do not use crab meat. Not even imitation crab. They were fishstick patty’s. $12 fishstick patty’s. They were extremely thin, overly crunchy and inside was extremely dry. If I wanted that I could have gone to Walmarts and bought a 30 pack of fish sticks for $12. Were not allowed to send them back. Extremely disappointing.
Good food but bad service with our waitress Linda. Took forever to give us refills and our check.
Our to go order was correct, ready on time, and delicious
Slow service & it was only 3 people at a table & two of us at bar.But all our food was great
Came on a Friday night and at first was worried the restaurant was understaffed. The 1 server and 2 people in the kitchen hustled hard and our experience was great as a result! Our 2 rolls, ramen, and drinks were deLICIOUS.
