Food was alright but the service was abysmal. I have been wanting to go here for a little bit and finally got the chance the other night. It took an actual hour for us just to get our appetizer (onigiri). No one came to check on us, give us an update on the food, offer a drink refill,, or anything. Not a single word. My whole family were getting really hungry so my husband finally had to go to the server himself just for us to get the appetizer at all. It then took another 30 minutes to get our main course, which wasn't very impressive. Even after bringing all of this to their attention, there was no apology or even excuse to our awful service. They literally just avoided our table the entire time. The experience was awful and we will never return.
Foodwise, def not 4.5…. Maybe 4.0. If you are gonna go for it, MAKE SURE you bring lots and lots of patience. It took exactly an hour for us to get our food- and this is not a big restaurant. They had maybe 4 tables filled when we walked in… and we ordered one appetizer and two dishes.I think they only have one chef. While I understand that one chef ran kitchen could get busy, 4 tables and an hour to get food?…. At least waiter/waitress should have told us that its gonna take a long time. We were told nothing until we had waited 50min and finally asked. Even when we asked, we were told that this happens a lot and their “regulars” also wait for a long time to get food?! I mean….. I guess in their world, that makes it okay for any other customers to wait for that long. Chef/Owner lady eventually came and said bunch of excuses, and offered free of charge for our food. We still paid in full- free food doesn’t make all the prob go away.
I've eaten at this restaurant very frequently. The food is just absolutely delicious and is a real hidden gem in El Paso. I honestly wish more people would know about this restaurant. I highly recommend everyone to eat here at least once or ten times in their lifetime. The only downside is the wait as it can vary greatly from 30 min to almost 2 hours. Is it worth the wait? Absolutely, 100%, indubitably yes. The food is simply that good.
Love the tonkotsu Ramen. Place is authentic. Just wish they were open more. As I like to eat there more often. They are only open a few hours and they cater alot so limited. Still worth it when you get in. Feels like there needs to be a waiting list.
Worth the wait!!! Get there early as there are only two people working. One in the kitchen, and one servicing the tables, door, and takeout- wowza! It is no longer cash only, but it might be nice to bring cash because you can just leave your payment and tip on the table and not have to wait to cash out. Onigiri is delicious, fried chicken app was to die for, spicy miso was the best ramen I've ever had, and the chicken katsu curry plate was just what a cold day ordered. They don't have alcohol, but they will let you BYOB. No regrets here!!
This is the best Ramen Location in El Paso IMO . Miso ramen soup is amazing.. I get spicy and it's amazing. It's all about the broth. The broth has amazing flavor and body. It's a deep broth and not just a liquid you would see in a regular cup of noodles . Had many others Nationwide and it's awesome to know my favorite ramen location is here in our City of El Paso.
This place seemed like a dream. It was delightful. The Katsu Curry is to DIE for! The Ramen is also splendid. The wait was definitely worth it. 10/10 would recommend.
I honestly can't get enough of this place. The katsu curry is absolutely worth the wait and the five starts.I will warn y'all, the wait can get long. I think there is only one cook. From the time we sat down to the time we got our food 1.5 hours had passed. The appetizers all got to our table at random times and so did our drinks. And yet, the food is so worth it I can't give it anything below 5 stars.
If you like to eat good matsuharu is your place
buena comida y muy buen trato
