This place is a definite tourist destination. The environment is great and the Margaritas are excellent. Stick to the frozen ones, they seem to kick in a bit more than those on the rocks. The Texas size Margarita used to be one of my all time favorites but it is alot of alcohol and alot of sugar. I know stick to the El Paso (medium) size. The food is so so. It's not what I would call the best Mexican food in town but it's not bad either. The only bad thing about this venue is that you do come out smelling alot like Mexican grease. Lol. Other than that, it's a great place to go and have a get together with friends, family, or coworkers.

Went on Cinco de Mayo after we drove in from NM. Margaritas were large and in charge. The atmosphere was purely authentic Mexican, and the place was packed. The food was delicious however my taco meat was bland. All prices were very cheap. I had an appetizer, entree and two margaritas and the total was under $25. If ever in El Paso, give this place a try. The mariachi band was a nice touch as well. Thanks for a good time and good food.

They were busy, which means they are a popular place. I had to wait almost 45 minutes for a table. The waitress was very nice and attentive. The Margarita was wonderful. Queso was okay, not great. I ordered steak and chicken fajitas, and they were good. I prefer my veggies a little more done but otherwise very tasty. On to desert, the flan was okay, not the best I've ever had, crusty on bottom and very bland. All in all it was a good place to eat and the service was great. I was alone and spent $50 on a full course; this is a little expensive in my taste, especially for fair quality. I would not go again.

It has been well over 25 years since I first ate at Carlos & Mickey's, and the food continues to be outstanding!

We kept our food simple as we had a drive ahead of us. I enjoyed the crisp, freshly made tostada chips and salsa. The salsa was not too chunky and not to liquidy, spot on flavor. I ordered the tortilla soup with chicken and quesadillas. She ordered albóndigas with quesadillas. I though the albóndigas had a good ratio of meat and vegetables, however the broth was a little bland. The tortilla soup on the other hand was rich and flavorful. I have never had a soup like it. The tomato base or whatever they tossed in added an amazing element that kept me wanting more. The quesadillas used store bought tortilllas which was disappointing. I figured since they made their own chips we would get fresh tortillas too. Anyhow, service was great.

1st time here, we ran in for lunch. Loved the atmosphere, and the whole place smelled delicious. The chips and salsa they put on the table...you can see from the picture, the Chips were as big as my hand...and very good. I had the nachos...appetizer and it was huge. Couldn't eat the whole thing. The food was great, the service was fast and friendly. Will totally go back there again while I'm in town for the next 3 months.

I went on the suggestion of a local while visiting here. It's very busy but I figured it must be good if no one batted an eye at being told the wait was 60-90 minutes. Being a party of 1 worked to my advantage- I was seated in 35 minutes. The service was very good, and the food did not disappoint. I got the shredded beef chimichanga and it was huge. They do not skimp on portions. The margarita was excellent. The salsa was a bit too spicy for me- definitely a burn on the back end, but you kind of wanted to keep going back in- just had my drink handy. Overall a great experience.

Lunch on Valentine's Day. Wow! They went all out on the decorations making a really fun atmosphere! Service was top notch. You must have a "large" margarita. Have never seen such. Chips and salsa some of the best. Food was great. Atmosphere was as good as it gets. Will return.

Had a great meal. Excellent chips and salsa. Tacos al Pastor were fantastic. They even gave my wife a special birthday treat.

I have traveled to El Paso many times, and ALWAYS thought to eat at Los Bandidos De Carlos & Mickey's. I love their fish tacos, their margaritas are FOR REAL, and the facility is an architecturally interesting place to be in! The owner brings in very talented local musicians to play in the lounge, and that is a real joy! One guy from Juarez (who plays what I call 'Mexican Jazz') convinced me to come on-stage and play HIS guitar while he sang-- in Spanish! That was awesome! Everyone who likes Mexican food should eat here!
