My husband, my son and I wanted to try their food because we had seen the commercial. We went in the waiter took our orders and he repeated the orders verbally to us making sure that was correct. We waited about 20 minutes and our soup and appetizers were served. When we finished with the appetizers, mine and my husband's main dish were served without our fried rice so we waited another 7 minutes for our rice and my son was still waiting patiently for his food. The waiter never came to check our table and see that my son's food was still missing from the order. A waitress walked by and we asked what happened to my son's food. She immediately went to the kitchen. By then the waiter, asked my son if he still wanted his food because no one had prepared his food. The owner had the audacity to charge us for my son's meal. She never apologized but, quick to charged $66.00 from a hand held machine that didn't itemized the charges and didn't print out a receipt. NO SERVICE, NO TIPS, BAD RATING, STAY AWAY...
Start with the bad. I had a craving for mapo tofu. When I looked at pictures posted by the restaurant, the dish that appeared to be mapo tofu, they labeled "szechuan tofu." I'll stop you there, yes, I know it's ALSO on their menu.I flip-flopped a lot on which to order, but ultimately went with the Szechuan tofu (since that's what the picture showed...dumb me).I will say, it is still some of the best Szechuan tofu I've had (granted, I usually order chicken in this style). Looks like I'll just have to go back and get the mapo this time! Give this place a try!
The service was slow waiter barely checked on us. The food is not worth the price. It tasted like fast food and the rice is awful both fried and steamed. Will not be coming back. Overpriced for the quality of the food.
We have been to most of the Chinese restaurants on the west side, and Hunan Palace is by far the BEST. The setting is simple, but the food is outstanding: egg rolls, Yu Husiang Special, General Tso Chicken, and Hot and Sour soup. Hilda provides Excellent Service! We have been many times and this continues to be our number 1 choice!
Had an early dinner. The place is clean and cozy and the staff was polite and courteous. I tried the chicken Kung Pao while my wife had the 3 dynasty plate. Both were delicious and the serving was enough to share. Will definitely be coming back. The hot and sour soup was delicious as well. ?
Good food at good price if you want Chinese
Food was very good. The sweet and sour sauce seemed to be made by hand and was very good. The veggies were cooked but nice and crispy the way they should be. The service was also very good.The beef dish seemed to be a little overcooked. The music, 80s and 90s rock, kind of spoiled the atmosphere of a Chinese restaurant. It is close to the University so perhaps that's the reason for the musical choice. Although it was good music.Over all I recommend this restaurant.
I spoke with Ms.Delores she was understanding. I’m just a little upset and definitely grossed out because there is a long string of food in my chicken. Ima need the manager to call me back ASAP as this is not my first issue with Hunan Palace.Spoke to to owner on phone, however could barley get a word out. They never called me back which led me to call on my own. Had to go up to the store physically collect my refund from the owner. She was to focused worried about the reviews and not the hair in my food. Never again, will be ordering from here. I do wish this facility the best lol.
My fiance and I decided to have a quick lunch here. Once walking in it looked very beautiful with alot of chinese art. We were seated in a booth. Our waitress was very polite and punctual. We ordered our food, it came out HOT & FRESH, everything was delicious. The egg rolls are a must. My least favorite would be the wonton soup it had no taste to it at all, I've never had a wonton soup that tasted like water. During our meal one of the employees/boss, came and refilled our drinks & asked how everything was so far, He welcomed us back. The food was REALLY good. The restrooms were very clean. Awesome restaurant! ???
Been here several times before and I highly recommend it! I ordered General Taos Chicken and wonton soup. Very good! If you look closely at the picture you will notice they made a butterfly out of the orange slices and cherry. Nice touch!
