Good, tasty, freshly made tamales as usual. The pan dulce (sweet bread) is good as well. Yummy! The staff is friendly and polite. They greet you with a smile and are quite professional. The only thing I would ask, not that I'm complaining, is that the tamales have a little more of a kick. That's just a personal preference. Seriously though, they are delishes and I'd recommend then to anyone looking for authentic tamales. Kudos Gussies Tamales. Great job.

Our family is delighted with visiting this restaurant, everything is very tasty, friendly and there is a local landmark goose Edik, we fell in love with him

A must visit place with great varieties of pan dulces. Also cheese chili tamales were amazing too. With more than 5 items was still less than $10.

It was my first time here, it was overall an amazing experience. Everyone is very welcoming and a fast service. 10 out of 10 recommend for everyone to try. Not to mention everything look super delicious and freshly made!

Definite five-star establishment. Their displays were absolutely loaded with pastries, even though I went in the evening. I ordered a few plus some donuts and they were all super fresh and delicious. I also ordered a bunch of tamales and they were also really good, definitely plumper than what I expected.

Been patronizing this place for 40 years. Mouth watering tamales. So flavorful and tasty. You can't go wrong with any flavor. But don't forget the sweetbreads. I can't buy one without the other.

I recently stopped by at Gussies to purchase tamales. I arrived early in the morning, but had to wait 45 minutes for my order. I know making tamales is time consuming, but the wait was too long. During the long wait, I kept thinking they were going to be freshly made (recién nacidos). No, they were just reheated. Sadly, their tamales were dry, sandy and crumbly. Tamales need to be moist, with all their years of making them they should know this. At $18.00 a doz their tamales are at the high end compared to the competitors. I was very disappointed.

Wonderful tamales & pan dulce!! Opens early and an easy walk from the five points area. I didn't have any previous experience with pan dulce, but I liked the round ones with the yellow crackle on top (vanilla) and the one that looked like a flat toast with a sugary butter on top. Both the cheese and chicken tamales are delicious, but I may have preferred the queso slightly. It's easiest if you can order in Spanish, but you'll figure it out no matter what.

Went today Feb 16 hoping to enjoy the tamales i remember as the best. However, i was disillusioned when i got home for lunch to find tamales half the diameter and with an added Bbq smoke taste. I will give them one more try next month but today they rate as average or below

My tia brought pan dulce this weekend for a family breakfast and I didn't get to try any until that night. I had a chocolate concha and was honestly left blown away. She told me she got the bread from this bakery. I have a huge sweet tooth and have had bread from so many different bakeries but the bread from Gussies is the best I've ever had.
