Been staying in El Paso for a week now and my dad offered to buy me some big yet delicious burritos. Came here and ordered 2 deshebrada burritos and 1 chicarrón burrito. The gentleman who took my order was pleasant and took only about 5 minutes to complete my order.Deshebrada was dry and tortilla was crispy. Not exactly what I was expecting. Downed this small sized burrito with a can of manzana soda.The chicharrón burrito didn’t fair better. All I could taste was tomato sauce. It greatly overpowered the chicarrón and all the other spices that are traditionally in this type of stew. Again tortilla was crispy. Into the trash it went. Not sure if this is the way they are supposed to be made here but living in San Francisco, I was eager to come to El Paso and eat a delicious burrito. I’ll stick with my mission-style burritos instead. Coming here despite my dad having previous good experiences, proved to be an extreme disappointment on this visit. Perhaps it was just an off day for them making good burritos today. ??♂️
This is a great place to get some good food. The service was very good too. Highly recommend.
THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!! Uber eats got the order mixed up, so we recieved someone else's order. We called El Portal- they reimbursed us, and then some. The food is awesome, and the people are even more awesome. A million thank yous to the ladies that took on 'Johnny's' order. We cannot thank you enough. You are the most honest, hard working people we have come across! You've restored our faith in humanity ?
It's usually really good that's why i go but today was not very good. The caldo was luke warm when i asked for it hot. The veggies were old and soggy it will probably be the last time i go. Everyone has there own opinion.
Quaint Mexican restaurant. A little out of the way. Food was fine.
We had the best Mexican in El Paso. The service was personal and the food actually reminded me of real Mexican food, not tex-Mex. They don't skimp on their servings or the flavor.

Really good and professional service. Went to have dinner, which we were surprised there wasn't more customers. The food was really good and the prices are reasonable.
Have to say a little pricey for the comida comida compared to other places and more tasty
