I was a barista at a specialty cafe in downtown Seattle for a little while and I consider myself to be a coffee nerd.I love this place. They are an excellent specialty coffee shop.Specialty coffee isn’t for everyone. It’s sophisticated and it can be intimidating to learn what some of the terms mean. And specialty coffee tastes much different from large batch coffee like Starbucks and McDonalds. But the baristas here are knowledgeable and friendly.If you drink a black coffee from Starbucks next to a black coffee from here (or any other specialty coffee place) you will be shocked at the difference, especially if it’s a pour over.For the full coffee experience, I recommend a pour over with the V60, black, no cream, no sugar. It’s worth trying once. It takes a while to brew a pour over, so don’t get one if you’re in a rush.Of course, black coffee isn’t for everyone. But I think Casa Cafetzin has a drink for everyone.Lastly, when you buy this type of coffee, you are supporting a local business and small farms, not Starbucks shareholders. If you buy coffee here, more of your dollar goes to a farmer in somewhere like Oaxaca or Veracruz.As for the food, I’m not sure. I’ll have to come back, but I’ve heard good things.
I went in and the lady working was very welcoming and helpful. Told her it was my first time and she told me about items on the menu. I ordered a chai latte, chocolate croissant and avocado toast. Let me start off by saying everything was delicious. The food was mouth watering good. This is a small and unique place. I loved it. I will definitely be going back and letting friends know about this place.
Had brunch here and ordered an avocado toast with an extra egg, mocha coffee and a flat white. The avocado toast was served with chili oil on the side, it was the best avocado toast I've ever had! It was nice and quiet with a good view of Mesa and the Franklin Mtns. Parking was not an issue and prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend!
Driving through and found this gem. Delicious coffee from Mexico. If I would’ve had more time I would have stayed here for a little while and enjoyed the sunny and bright sitting area.
This cappuccino is the best I've had outside of Italy! I know it sounds exaggerated, but it was delicious - no bitterness, no nasty aftertaste, just smooth and flavorful.
Neither employee was masked. I asked if they had drip coffee and they said yes. But then offered me a pour over or an Americano. …Because they don’t actually have coffee prepared. The Americano was just so so. I think the clerk was new, as I heard the other employee instructing them as I left. The atmosphere in the place was very cute.
Great little place! Coffee and pastries were delicious. Unfortunately had to take a star because only some of the employees were wearing masks. Otherwise I highly recommend it!
This is my 5th time here and the coffee is really good. I order the Freddo it’s bold and pure (not for those who prefer it sweet, also they don’t do flavors here just sugar) and I pair it with a tamal de elote which is sweet. The molletes are amazing!!I would give it the 5 star rating if it weren’t for the baristas, I have waited to write a review because I was waiting for a polite and kind barista. Unfortunately, all times I have been here the person behind the counter seems unfriendly, stonewalling and unpleasant. I have tried asking for recommendations and I get flavorless answer lol other than that it’s a cute, small and delicious spot. Perhaps they are trying to keep a cold theme w their staff.
This spot is pure bliss. Such a great find. The coffee is superb and the space is magical. Small family owned specialty coffee shop. You can't go wrong with this spot. The avocado toast was out of this word! ? And the cortado was delectable
very cozy relaxing spot, nice decoration, with a comfy, chill and reposeful vibe. A true cafe u can sit down, grab a coffee, read a book or work on ur computer and just enjoy the vibes. Nice covered patio at the front as well. Great coffee great service.
