Surprisingly disappointed. Today was my families first time at the Joe Battle location and was definitely let down. Fries were cold, not crispy at all. The high chairs are too tall for the tables so my child cannot eat without sitting on the table. Sweet tea was totally unsweet. Half of the chicken from my meal was barely warm. The location on Dyer is by far Boss' best location.
Not a good experience at all. My family got some type of food poisoning at the location on zaragoza and edgemere. That is the last time that we have boss's chicken. A parent from my daughter's softball team also said they got really sick at the location on Eastlake.I just wanted to let the public know think twice about eating at boss's chicken.
Love this place!! I forgot to add boss fries to my order and when I asked to purchase them, they added them for free :) Food is always amazing quality.
2 stars to this location. I haven't been pleased with my last few visits. Today I got really small tenders, not a big deal, it didn't fill my appetite. On my previous visit I got the #4 El Jefe but there was barely any chilli/cheese on my dog + small tenders. I love this restaurant and their recipe. Perhaps it's just the person that prepares the plates. They just need to portion the plates better.
My first time and my last. The service was horrible and very unfriendly. I was asking questions about the menu and getting hardly a response. The manager a young girl was wearing her mask around her chin. She also dropped two containers of Boss sauce and I watched her pick them up and put them in with the food. GROSS!! The food was unappealing. We ordered original, grilled and lemon pepper. The original was just ok. The lemon pepper and grilled tasted like someone poured a salt shaker all over the tenders. Oh well, now I know. Go to the Shack if you want decent tenders.
The chicken is delicious. The food here is great, except for the chili. The chili tastes almost like it's sweet, not savory, and too runny. My husband loved the queso fries but I was not keen on the chili. I had the chili on fries and on a hot dog, different occasions, and the chili just did not have much substance to it. The frozen custard was amazing and creamy. If you want a chili dog or chili fries I would recommend finding a place that actually "does chili".
We’ve lived minutes away from this place for almost 3 years and I can’t believe this was our first time there! The food & custard is extremely good! The chicken has the perfect amount of seasoning & whatever is on the fries is awesome as well. The only thing I would change is the Texas toast is just plain toast. If they would put a little of the fry seasoning in the butter for the toast, it would be so good! We will be back ?
I went there happy that I was going to get Boss Chicken, but when I got there my order wasn’t even warm. The fries were old and barely salted. I felt like the employees really didn’t care. I left disappointed.
Sad because had been one of our favorite spots to eat, but today everything was soggy and we were missing our sauces. So disappointed ? guess Canes will be where we go now. So sad.
EDIT: They outdid themselves! Mando called shortly after my review and made it all right. That is great service! Definitely made a lifetime customer out of my family and me.Ordered fries for national fry day because we liked it the last time we were there. These fries were so hard, we couldn't even bite through them. They fried them for way too long.
