BEST CHICKEN EVERTHIS location in Edinburg has been around forever and has the best chicken - and they know it. People will wait the 15 min or much more for them to fry it up if they run out... For some reason the chicken at the Starlite on 23rd Street is NOT made the same!! Beware!
Ever since I could remember, Starlite Burger has had THE BEST GIZZARDS I'VE EVER EATEN IN MY LIFE!!!!! Believe me when I say that!! I don't know what spices are used in the batter, but it tastes like an original recipe with nothing fancy like paprika or onion powder. And best of all, it's made to order so it's hot!! PERFECT!!! French fries are a little soggy. Can use a few more minutes in the fryer. Over all, 5 ?
Absolutely love this place. Food is amazing. My one star isn't because of the food or service. It's for the simple fact that online it says it opens at 10 am, the signs be the door said "Yes we're open" but waited in the drive thru for 15 mins, no line, for my order to be taken at 10:20 am. If I get here after 10 am because it says it's open at 10 am, where is everyone? Literally only one vehicle was parked in the back and then slowly people were showing up after 10:05 am
We use to eat here as kids and I remember it always being so good. I have not had their burger in years. I was disappointed with the quality today. The burgers and fries were ice cold and the meat tasted old. The meal was not freshly made and the instructions were ignored. Which leads to me believe that they used old burgers they had sitting out to fulfill our order. I try to support local, but never again. This was the worst burger I have ever had. This is not a 4.5 star restaurant. The good reviews must have blasted taste buds or they are friends of the owner.
Not that good the better place to eat the one in San Juan texas hands down . Better fries n really home made tartar sauce really!!!
The food was delicious but the people that work there are very rude. The lady that took my plate to the table just laid it down rudely and didn't even say thank you. She had a mean look on her face like if she didn't want to be there working which made us customers very uncomfortable

Looks can be deceiving as when you look at the restaurant itself, you'd think the food would be similar. But, when I went, I ordered a cheeseburger combo to go and was pleasantly surprised when I noticed the burger was Whataburger quality, the fries complimented the food and the soda topped it all off very nicely.The place genuinely looks like a relic from the past, back when diners were abundant and flashy with their lights and colors, something we don't really have anymore.I'll definitely be coming back here with my family sometime, whether it's dine-in or takeout.
Probably my 5th or 6th visit in a month. Always great customer service. I ordered a double cheeseburger combo with large Dr. Pepper. Love the old fashioned type cheeseburger. Fries are good but need to be cooked a few minutes longer. They don't offer refills so it's best to order a large drink if you tend to drink alot while eating. If you're worried about Covid, they do have plexiglass at the cash register and everyone must wear a mask. Overall, love this place, just prefer the fries to be cooked a little longer.
