I had gone to the DeSoto, TX Cracker Barrel a while back and the food was not acceptable. I immediately contacted a manager who told me that he would place my name on a list and whenever I returned to that location, he would give me two free meals. Well, I went back there and mentioned it to Danny, the manager on duty and he said, "no he would not honor those meals." He was not courteous at all and was very stern about not wanting to do anything about replacing the food. This is unacceptable and what I call very poor customer service. I will NOT return to this location. Cracker Barrel owes me at least $30 for those two meals!
I love their breakfast! I hate to do this but we took my grandson (young adult) on Sunday for his birthday. We had a 40 minute wait, and once we ordered ( 3 of us) we placed our order it took about 15 minutes b4 I got my coffee and my daughter and grandson their water. it took about 2o minutes to get our food we all ordered scramble eggs, pancakes, hashbrowns 2 casserole and one regular and bacon. Food was Luke-warm, so was the coffee Never got refills or asked, bacon wasn't crispy ? we didn't complain because we were hungry and we just wanted eat and Nit wait anymore than we had. Before we left we told the manager and he said he wished we had said something But we told him about the wait etc. He apologized but didn't even try to compensate for their lack of good customer service. It's sad that we weren't considered we paid and were very professional not to let other customers know our dissatisfaction. My Name is Ms Dean, we were at the Desoto Restaurant in Dallas
When mom wants lunch and you want breakfast you find a restaurant that will accommodate both. Cracker Barrel was the closest option. The long wait to be greeted and seated should have been an indication of what to expect. Grandma’s Sampler wasn’t a good choice. The turkey sausage was overcooked and dry, the hash brown casserole was ? different. Thankfully their pancakes were a hit! Our server Dommy was friendly and served us with a smile. The experience was well below my expectations but I guess everyone tried to do their part. The sausage and hash brown casserole were the only reason both plates weren’t cleaned.
Tried picking up my order that I placed but they lady at the pick up register REFUSED to acknowledge my presence. At first nobody was at the register, so I calmly waited. When she arrived, she immediately started talking to her coworker at the register next to her, not wanting to be rude, I took a step back and waited for her to call me up. Two people cut in front of me while I was waiting for her to finish her conversation, and they were immediately helped. When they were out of the way, I tried just asking her for my order, but was immediately cut off by a runner bringing her more pick up orders. Once they were all put up on the shelf, the lady working the pick up register immediately started rummaging around for something in a drawer. Impatient at this point, I finally just told her that I was here picking up an order; no response, she doesn't even for a second stop doing what she was doing. I asked her two more times, getting a little louder each time in case she can't hear me despite the fact that I'm literally right there, and she just refused to acknowledge i was there. Rather than let my anger get the best of me and cause a seen or just go behind the counter and perform the one simple task of getting my own bag for her, I left. I dont understand why I was ignored, but I won't be returning to this establishment if they pick and choose who they worthy of their service.EDIT: In response to the owner- No, I will not be contacting you or returning to your establishment.
This place is right next to the hotel I was staying at. The staff was very polite. The food was good and definitely worth the price.
I've to cracker barrel but just not in the city of Desoto. Most are set up the same but it's all about service. I got Sat right away, order was out promptly, the food was good and service was excellent!!!! Great crew here. Id come back just because people are nice here!!!
Had the fried fish special with okra and cole slaw. Pretty good. Decent price. Service was a little slow, but polite when they got to me

If I could give this place less than a star I would.I liked the visit that I had in the store,but the food and service was gross.When I voiced this to the manager this morning and explained how the gravy was to thick and the Ham to salty he simply replied with ham is already salty anyways and the gravy and grits are free,but it's included in your meal options.Also our sausage was hard and dry meaning it was over cooked.the least he could have did was at least comp on meal or offered to fix it.I will definitely not be back to this place if this is the type of service that you receive.
