What happened to my chicken?Eaten here 6 times and what is this today? Ordered a 12 piece meal for $32.56 and it fit in the same size box as a hamburger.DRYSMALL PIECESmostly small wings and legs.Completely disproportionate assortment of pieces for what customarily is 1.5 chicken. Are you serving chicken or quail?Smallest pieces of chicken I ever got.Probably weighed out at less than a pound for all 12 pieces.Oh, and it wasDry Dry DRYHORRIBLE DEAL.HORRIBLE VALUE.WHY?I WOULD HAVE TO BE EL HOMBRE LOCO TO COME BACK.Why just throw customers away like that?

I usually don't leave bad reviews, but I'd be doing you all a disservice if I didn't tell you how HORRIBLE this place is.It all began right as we pulled up to the drive thru window. The young lady asked us to give her our entire order all over again. First world problem?Fine, sure...We're asked to pull up which we knew would happen because of the size of our order. We sat idling (gas is $4 a gallon so.....) for 30 minutes waiting for our food. A young lady comes out confused as heck looking for whoever the food she was carrying belonged to because I guess that information wasn't passed along.Okay, fair enough...She runs back inside and comes out 5 minutes later with the same bag, "here you go". We look inside the bag and we're missing about HALF our order, to which the young lady shrugged and left. After discussing our options we decided to get a refund.I walk inside and recite my ENTIRE order once again to get my refund. Why do you ask? Because apparently giving out receipts has been an issue in the past with other reviewers. What I found baffling was that it wasn't even that busy ?So my refund was processed, which I made sure they gave me a receipt of. We weren't even offered an apology by anyone for the sheer inconvenience. Hell, the manager (or whoever it was that was helping the cashier do her job) didn't even acknowledge me or the issue at hand. I guess I won't much blame the staff because they're probably getting paid next to nothing, so why be motivated? My $66.75 will be better spent elsewhere. I would suggest you avoid this place AT ALL COSTS.[[EDIT]]We drove down the parking lot a little and ate at Dairy Queen instead. Our food was brought out as soon as it was ready, the young lady thanked us, and apologized for the wait. Now THAT'S service ?

My husband and I dined there this afternoon and this will definitely become one of our return eateries...food was delicious, very well seasoned and we could definitely stay within our calorie count. Just wish I could prepare pollo the way they do!!!. The staff was very courteous and friendly. Thanks again for a very nice meal.

I usually don't leave bad reviews, but I'd be doing you all a disservice if I didn't tell you how HORRIBLE this place is/was AND share it on every imaginable "review" site there is, starting with Yelp. Love the chicken, but 1045 in the morning no one else in line no one behind me I pull up I order a few things and I’m asked to go pull up by the tree and wait. Why? When I asked it’s because we have timers, I said there’s no one behind me so I’ll stay here and then the manager comes out and demands that I move forward nicely but insist that I move forward and I politely say no. It’s time businesses like this focus on the customer instead of metrics. If you focus on the customer the feedback and the metrics will come if the metrics are wrong, speak with leader ship and get it sorted but if you don’t have the food ready then don’t get to a point where now me as a customer is worrying if you spit in it because all I did was ask if I could stay here and not be harassed not have to pull up and just let you guys serve me. Is that so hard?THEN I get home and the TORTILLA SOUP IS LITERALLY ALL SALT AND INEDIBLE. Was this retribution for daring to not pull forward AND the rest. and survey code on the receipt to give this feedback officially was INVALID, really? I will def NOT stop here again now. Again, why and was it worth it?? #Sad

We order from here at least 2x a week and the last few times we've ordered the chicken is burnt and not hardly anything edible on thighs or legs. Always something missing from order once arrive home to realize it. The one in denton tx is getting bad. Wish we had another location close by cause we love the food.

Me and my husband love eating at El Pollo Loco in Denton! The food is always good and the employees are very friendly. The manager Angie is awesome!!!! She goes out of her way to make the Chicken Cesar bowl for me. It’s not even on the menu anymore and it’s my favorite. Gosh I wish they would bring it back! Thank you Angie for making my visit to your location special!!!

Really good, fresh food! The double chicken avocado salad was a great buy. Do not let the sort of run down interior fool you. They need to fix things up inside but the food is worth it.

We went last night for the first time and we will never be back. Although we got the right food, we were overcharged by nearly $10. They didn't tell us how much it was going to be at the window, but we saw the charge hit the bank account and it was pretty far off. For one of the orders, they were charged $15 for a burrito that says it's less than $8. Nothing extra on it or on the side or a drink, just a burrito. They also didn't give us the receipts so we could find out what went wrong. The food was also just so dry and overcooked. There are so many better places to get Mexican food in Denton, don't waste your time or money.

I don’t write many reviews of fast food, but I thought El Polo Loco deserved one. I can best describe this restaurant as efficient, tasty chicken with a Tex-Mex flair. Of course you are not going to get fine dining quality food here, nor did I expect it. But what I did get was a friendly staff, quick service and very tasty food. I typically get chicken rather than beef at any Tex-Mex restaurant so this place is right up my alley. If I am ever looking for a quick lunch, I can now add El Polo Loco as one of those choices to look for. One thing that particularly impressed me was how clean the kitchen looked and that there were rows of chicken being grilled fresh. So much better than some fast food restaurants that get all of the meat in bags to be reheated later. I think the cooking grill preparation is one reason that it tasted fresh and moist. My choice was the Tinga Burrito. Just the right size and filled with fresh ingredients. I can’t give a fast food place 5 stars (sorry, just can’t do it) so the 4 star rating of very good is my highest fast food rating. And that is what we all want from fast food, isn’t it, very good?
