Online says they are open at 5:30pm…but there is no one here and it’s 6:00pm. Got here at 5:25pm to wait for them to open but they never did…At least put a sign on the the door to let customers know. Walked over to the next door nail salon to see if they were going to open soon and was told some times the owner just decides not to open?? Extremely unprofessional.
6/28/2022 We were enthusiastic: First time we were there after reading the good reviews!I called to make a reservation and a terrible opera “singer” yelling a note answered ?Not space to leave a message ?We decided to drive there. Bad idea. The neon sign said OPEN, the door hanged sign said CLOSE…The door was unlocked. We walked inside: 3 separated tables occupied with 8 customers total having dinner. The place was cute, like an open kitchen and the dining room in a comfy house. It smelled good.Suddenly a cook came to say:“No, no, no. I cannot serve anyone else. I have ALL this people to attend.”He got back to the kitchenAnd that’s all, no “hello” no “good-bye”, no apology, no “please, try again”, nothing… nada ?At least I hope the opera singer stops answering the phone… maybe we could get a reservation for 2 soon and give them a chance ?
I was a regular customer when their restaurant was on Fry Street 20 years ago, and I'm still a customer now. Lovely restaurant.
Having passed their door on numerous occasions without knowing when they're open as hours aren't posted, we went online to see that they're a dinner only place that starts at 5:30 pm.Reviews seemed to indicate that food and service were exceptional so we gave them a try.I must say that though dishes seemed fresh and flavorful, and bread on the side adequate, prices were 2-3X what competitors charge for comparable plates with larger portions and actually better flavors. Service was hit and miss.Pretty much explains why the crowd was small during our visit and why we will go a little further toward the center of Denton for Fera's next time.
We always call ahead for a reserve ration as a courtesy. This was excellent service, food and value. We have used this restaurant with our special items during the holidays. The owner (Sid) cares about his customers. This is now our go to place.
Excellent Italian food. The staff was great, BYOB is a bonus. We will be coming back soon for both the food and service!
The BEST Italian in the entire DFW area - and worth the drive to Denton. Sid; the owner and chef, is incomparable and the consummate host. This is a romantic date night restaurant, not a family restaurant, plan accordingly and enjoy!
I went there once without a reservation and was refused seating. No problem. So today being my birthday, I called to make a reservation for myself, my wife and 11 year old daughter who eats off the adult menu and was refused because my she wasn't 15!! That was a shabby excuse and I would not ever recommend this restaurant to anyone. They are apparently too full of themselves....I was a little disappointed because I thought I had found a good Italian restaurant (being an Italian from New York), but instead the owner was rude to me on the phone, so he lost a good customer for life.
First time at Bageri's tonight. Service was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the Chicken Florentine, Chicken Marsala and cannolis for dessert! Can't wait to go back.
The owner is an interesting guy. Some folks he treats like his long lost brother, other people he will bark out orders like a four star General, then there are people who show up with kids. They are told simply to leave, I have watched this unfold a couple of times over the years. Food is good, no booze, beer or wine for sale. The guy can cook but would struggle to sell beer to sailors. Oh ya, and don't show up at Opening time. They will get around to opening when they .....well, get around to opening. Could be 5, maybe 6, or 7, its a bit of crapshoot.
