Uchi holds the reputation for one of the best sushi spots in Dallas for many reasons. Personally, I enjoyed the Sushi bar. The chef was helpful in making suggestions and ensuring our experience was enjoyed beyond eating.
WOW! Had an absolutely excellence experience here over the weekend when we came in to celebrate our 11 year anniversary. Started with a bottle of Ayala Champagne which was wonderful. We were debating between going a la carte or going for the omakase and then our server suggested the option of telling her what we like and don't like and she could order dishes accordingly. So we went with that option and loved everything! We told her we love raw sushi, spicy and wagyu beef. These are the items she brought out: Yellowtail in Ponzu Sauce - so so good, had the perfect amount of dressing and some green chilies for the heat Fried Pumpkin - this might've been the only dish I could've done without, it just felt unnecessarily heavy Oysters - so good with the jalapeí±o relish! Fried Brussel Sprouts - delicious and had the perfect hint of lemon Nigiri (avocado and can't remember the name of the fish) - the fish nigiri was excellent; the avocado one I didn't care for Lobster -- omg so good, perfectly cooked and in a delicious spicy coconut thai type curry sauce Pan Fried Cod with a Foam sauce -- sounds weird but delicious Nigiri (tuna belly and a white fish) - both fantastic! Sashimi - can't remember which fishes they were but both were so good! Tuna & Watermelon - I would have never picked this combination but it blew me away! Wagyu Beef -- literally melts in your mouth Maki Roll -- I'm not into the rolls this was for my husband and he loved it White Fish with Asian Pear -- this was on the house for our anniversary and an excellent way to end our experience For dessert we got the "fried milk." They should really rename this dish because it sounds so strange but it's SO good. There are almost like a few fried donuts and then a chocolate and vanilla cream to pair of with. Amazing! We had a truly amazing experience and can't wait to come back again!!
James, Host "Extraordinaire" at the front, is a most pleasant, competent, and accommodating man. He always is polite, prompt, and a great asset to Uchi. Good food and great vibe! Celebrated my birthday here and it was a nice intimate setting. I like that the dishes don’t come all at once, so it makes for a nicely paced dinner. Take advantage of happy hour if you can!
