Fun place with indoor bar seating and outside porch seating. The outdoor booths are wide fitting! The indoors has a lot of high tops . Great music and chill environment. Our server Hillary was real sweet and attentive. The curry was quite good and it's the best Monte Cristo I've had in a long time! They have happy hour fare. Oh, and they validate parking!
I keep forgetting to post my review about this nice little pub. The decor of the place is a pub ?? ? but on to the food, my husband heard about the fish and chips here, and he knows I love a good fish and chips ? ? ?? when I ordered the fish ? I was expecting to see like you normally get, the cod shaped fish that you see at other places, boy was I wrong. When she placed the food in front of me I was like, wow that's a whole fish ? and dove right in, the batter was nice and crispy but not too crispy, just the right crisp. The fish was so good and easy to eat ? I enjoyed the fries that came with it but I didn't really like the coleslaw. My only complaint about the fish was the batter fell off ? lol I wish it stayed on it but I still devoured the food ? our appetizer was fried corned beef & cabbage eggrolls, it was ok but I should have taken a picture of my husband's burger ? he had the Jameson burger and I took a bite of it and my taste buds where so happy at the flavor that burger has ? but we will back someday cause I love my fried fish ?
Great friendly service, wonderful food, generous portions. A great place!
Diego, Wes, and Reagan took great care of me. Drinks were great, I'm full on music, beer, food, and Irish vibes.
I made my first visit to The Playwright last week and was stunned (in a good way) so much that I needed a second visit a few days later to really capture what needed to be said. First and foremost the staff are awesome - every last one of them. They know they bill off fare and really set on the right option, which brings mev to the bill of fare which has fabulous offerings. The corned beef is without compare and the pub curry is truly best over fries (skip the rice - trust me on this). The bet offerings are what is expected and all pours are proper but the real yeah is the whiskey selection. They don't have an endless inventory, but they have what you will actually want to drink! I'm partial to the Middleton's Very Rare although their selection of other Irish whiskey gives the full cross section of palettes. The scotch selection is really good, but this is an Irish Pub so wet should support the Erin land! Solid five star pub and restaurant!
An actual Irish bar.Irish music plays on the speakers, they have several Irish beers (not just Guinness), and it’s clean with great food! Food includes shepherds pie, bangers and mash, and corned beef with cabbage.Definitely family friendly and they have some great specials through the week with 2 for 1 fish and chips on a Monday night and $5 Irish pints on a Tuesday.
While this place is a little pricey, (but the good food is worth it for sure!) The atmosphere is phenomenal. I and my fiancee stopped to get a bite to eat and we were immediately greeted and sat down as soon as we entered. Our waitress was on top of her game, and very friendly. Definitely a place to go for good drinks and good food on a Friday night.
Fantastic Place, I love hidden gems that end up being affordable. This places food is amazing and their drinks are reasonably priced. Plus they have specials throughout the week. Been there twice and both times service was phenomenal. One of my favorite date night spots, lots of ice cold draft selections
We just finished having the best breakfast/brunch ever! Fabiana, our waitress was amazing as well and had amazing customer service! Thank you guys! We will be back!
This is the finest pub I've ever visited. I'm considering having my mail forwarded and changing my address to this little portal to heaven. The food, drink, service AND atmosphere are unsurpassed! There are few places I give bad reviews, but even fewer get glowing reviews... The Playwright is most deserving of the latter. Come one, come all, come try The Playwright and enjoy a bit of Irish excellence in downtown Dallas!
