The Free Man use to be my place to go, especially after Mavericks games but it has gone way downhill. The last two times that I have visited the guys at the door have been great, but the rest of the service sucks. I sat down the first time and waited over 15 minutes, and no one ever came over to my table to take my order. The guy at the door apologized and refunded my cover charge. The next time I went on Friday night (May 6), the tattooed bartender took my order at the bar and after serving me never checked on me again. She served everyone around me but NEVER looked my way again. I went to the other end of the bar for service and that bartender ignored me as well. Both times the place was not crowded at all. Free Man, you have now lost a devoted customer and will lose more if your service doesn't get any better.

Stopped in for a beer and lunch. Love that they have Purple Haze on tap!Good beer selection for sure!Honestly can’t remember the menu very well, you scan a QR code and I just wanted a po’boy. It was delicious! Kind of skimpy on the shrimp but they were cooked perfectly.Didn’t catch the name of my bartender, but she was awesome! Was just killing time before my flight out and she gave me some fun insights on the neighborhood. Would come back if I’m ever in Dallas again!

Over priced. Long waits. When we went, only one kitchen was working and they had only a portion of the menu available. After waiting an hour for our food, I was excited because it looked so good. I ordered the etoufee and was quite disappointed in it because it tasted more like tomato paste than anything else. There was a nice portion of crawfish in it, though. My friend got the Cajun wings. He only ate one. We both like spice but they were quite bitter tasting. May go back for the live music, but not for the food.

We came here for the first time on a Wednesday, around 3:30pm. Xavier was a great host and was very knowledgeable of the beer and food menu. We had the gator tail basket with sweet potato fries, and they were excellent. Gia, the bartender, was awesome in fulfilling my request for the Albita Amber with some ice, since it appeared that the tap was warm. The beer tasted good, but just needed some ice. We had another engagement later that afternoon. After strolling through Deep Ellum, we walked by and saw that they had two stages with live music. We're looking forward to coming back and spending more time here.

Highly recommended! Very clean, incredible entertainment. I can’t wait to see them again!!

food was good - service was great and show was fab!

My friend and I essentially paid a $10 cover charge to hear a band we didn't want to hear and could barely hear one another talk because the band was so loud on a Thursday night. Just be aware if you're only going to eat and don't need or want entertainment that depending on the night this place could be giving more club than restaurant vibes. Also no prices are on their online menu! Where they do that at? Food was good, but the above factors were definite detractors.

Great music and service. Interior is pretty dark. The spice on the wings was pretty overpowering and wasn't that good. The fries were ok.

great food. great service and good music.

Delicious cocktails ? and cajun food. We went there to check out live music. The band was so ? so amazing rock soul. The staff was friendly and fun. We will definitely be back.
