Went for an anniversary/birthday dinner last month and it was delicious! The white seaweed salad is amazing (as well as everything else). Everything was nice and clean, nice servers, some a bit too quiet for me to hear. Ambiance on point. It was nice of them to show authenticity of the wagyu, but I could have done without it probably. I would definitely recommend eating here at least once for the experience. But several more times for the food ?.
Loved them! I will be honest, I loved their appetizers way more than their entrees. The shrimp tempura is to die for, karaage and edamame was great. Caviar tuna tartare was amazing. Had premium sashimi, udon noodles, and wagyu; it was all good as like, good expected taste. Not too special but still great quality. Tho sashimi was too little compare to the price and wagyu felt full of fat. Kinda felt like fatty korean galbi. Their mocktail was good, old fashion was very smooth. Dessert was great as well especially tiramisu. Chocolate soufflé and vanilla ice cream was also good. Overall, I would definitely come back to try other dishes.

We went for my birthday last night and had the worst service. We sat at the bar were there was a young tall guy who was apparently being trained by our server (girl), he was very nice and welcoming I must note. When the server approached us, she didn't even introduced herself or acknowledge that it was my birthday (there was a small birthday sign provided by the restaurant) and rudely asked for the drink order. My boyfriend had planned this dinner, so I was trying to remain calm, but I was so put off by her unprofessionalism from the get to. I asked for a drink suggestion between two drinks and she responded with a condescending tone as though I should have known the difference which made me feel stupid. Throughout the meal she rarely checked on us, and I must point out that she was very rude to the guy that was training. I asked him how long he's been working which he said a week, and proceeded to say that he was "nervous", which made me feel bad because she was giving him no direction and was speaking to him rudely. The last straw for me was when she brought the bill. She proceeded to open the bill and how it for us BOTH, and spoke so loudly about the deposit. I swear the whole bar saw the amount of the dinner and heard her about the deposit. First of all, have some manners and ensure that maybe it's not a regular dinner, and both parties don't need to see the bill. Second, it seemed that she was making sure that we know about the deposit so that her "tip" is not affected. I proceeded to let her know that her approach about the bill was rude, but I shouldn't have to do that. This was one of the worst servers, and I was very disappointed in the experience even though the food was delicious. I also expressed my discontent to the two hostesses (very sweet) as we were leaving. You need to have a talk with this server to ensure this doesn't happen to any future customers. Not cool at all!
Easily the best meal we had while in Dallas - not steak, not BBQ, not Tex-Mex, not Domino's. We booked Tei-An for lunch on our last day and this was our favorite meal of all. We got seats at the bar and they let us check out the menu on our phones. The day's specials were on a printed menu. We took a while to figure out everything we wanted because it was a pretty extensive menu. I started with their take on an Old Fashioned because they didn't have any small bottles of nigori. Cliff and I wound up sharing a bunch of things. We started with the sashimi deluxe app which came with 4 pieces each of 5 different fish. We also got a chicken shiokoji, a maitake mushroom app, the salmon collar and the soba agedashi. Everything was delicious. We then got 2 pieces each of toro and A5. Also delicious. Cliff got a soba in hot soup with a duck breast. I got the cold dipping soba with tempura. We both agreed our soba were delicious. Finished with desserts which were also delicious. Our server was Joseph and he was very attentive, coming to check on us many times. They kept our water glasses full and cleaned our plates very quickly. Service in Japanese restaurants are usually top notch and it was no different here. Tax, tip, 2 drinks, hot tea for Cliff, water for us, all the apps, the soba mains and dessert - the bill came out to 375 bucks which is pricey but we thought worth it.
Overrated! The new year’s eve Omakase dinner was way below expectation. First of all, the flavor of the food is just so-so, you can find better quality somewhere else with half the price. Additionally the service was so slow that I almost fell sleep waiting for the next course.I would not recommend this restaurant.
Miss me legitimately have been one of the better meals we've had since moving to Dallas. Food quality was excellent and preparation / presentation was fantastic. We chose one of the sampling menus which was really reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of food.Beyond being high quality hot and cold Japanese food - they have some really interesting elevated street food options. Things like curry with short rib put enough of a spin on a comfort food classic to make it competitive even on such a interesting menu.
Absolutely incredible, everything was fresh just perfect, the omakase with sake pairing was a great experience. Great atmosphere and service was A+
This is a hidden gem. What an amazing experience we had at Tei-An. Be ready for a 2-3 hour dinner. We decided to go with the omakase and our minds were blown with every plate that was brought out. The servers were knowledgeable and explained everything in detail. The omakase menu is always changing but we had the white seaweed, sashimi plate, A5 Wagyu, tempura veggies, fish with brussel sprouts, carbonara soba, and to finish, ice cream with delicious honey. I can eat a lot and I was stuffed when we finished. I tried the matcha green tea mixed drink and it was very unique and delicious. Only knock was the servers never asked if we wanted another drink. Tei-An is on top of my list, A+ without a doubt
Stylish Japanese restaurant. We tried bunch of different plates they were all delicious.Reservation required, we used their valet service.Must try
