Absolutely Amazing is All I Can Say. First off let me say I'm not really big on BBQ, & since I've moved to Texas I've yet to find a BBQ place that made me want to go back again, & again until today. Today I wanted to give Texas one more shot at BBQ so I checked out Smokey John's. As you can see from the pic I purchased the Ribs and Sausage Plate. I chose baked beans, and potatoe salad as my 2 sides. I also purchased a side of Mac and cheese, and Cabbage. EVERYTHING was absolutely amazing. Thank you Smokey John's for the hospitality, and outstanding customer service you provided when I patronized your restaurant today. You've definitely gained a new regular customer❤️
Eyell still give this family business 5 stars because of the customer service and presentation was great. Good looking employees and clean establishment. One thing was the macaroni was over kooked but still eye enjoyed my meal
This food is so good. I couldn't help but to start eating before I took the picture. Oopps I usually get the Baked potato with chopped beef. I like that the potato is soft and fresh with a decent amount of meat. They have good Chicken tetrazini Or chicken spaghetti whatever you call it but it only served on Thursdays. The sweet tea and lemonade is awesome too.
The food was great here. I had to stop in today after hearing about it on the USA Today special and competition. I got the ribs and the brisket and thought it was very good. The cabbage and mac and cheese were also super great, topped off with a nice cold sweet tea.
After GMA report, I had to come out and taste for myself! Never really knew of this place. And I don't know how but today's lunch was Smokey John's BBQ. I had the brisket (moist) plate with Mac' n Cheese and Baked Beans and I even ordered the Cole slaw. Everything was delicious and greatly appreciate the cornbread on the side. I gave it a 5 star not only for the great food but also because you can see they really care about their customers. I spoke to one of the owners as he was walking by to check in on everyone dining at the tables. I let him know how I got to their place and asked when is the competition. He said its coming up this Monday. Both brothers are flying over to NY. I really felt proud of my Texas Family. I let him know the Flores Family will root for Smokey John's!
I'm a BBQ conossuer. I visited this place after seeing them on Good Morning America. I ordered the 3 meat plate ribs, turkey, sausage and a brisket sandwich. There was one common theme with all of the meat. TOO MUCH SMOKE! Also my ribs had too much bark and they were dried out.All I could taste was majority smoke with some meat.Sides were decent. Cabbage, Mac and cheese, collard greens.The true place this restaurant shines is in the dessertI ordered the peach cobbler, butter bomb cake and lemon butter cream cake. All 3 of them were AAA excellent.The desserts outshines the BBQ here. I just ask that the pitmaster dial back the smoke and just let the meat shine.
Omg! I found my SPOT! Every single thing I ordered was Perfect! Brisket, sausage, mac & cheese, potato salad, bbq sauce, lemonade - perfect! Place was very clean and orderly, line moved quickly.. Me and my wife are already planning our next lunch date at Smokey Johns!
This was hands down the best barbecue I’ve ever had. I went here 2 nights in a row during my 4 day trip to Dallas for job training. The ribs and brisket were perfectly cooked and the cornbread and baked beans were absolutely delicious. If anyone is in town, definitely go here! It doesn’t look like much on the outside, but you will never be disappointed here. If I ever get the chance to return to Dallas, this is my first stop. ?
This is some of the best food I have had since moving to Texas.
