Smokey Joe's is Texas Monthly top 50 for a reason. Brisket, ribs, and sausage are outstanding. Brisket is perfectly seasoned and oh so tender. BBQ sauce is really good, but totally unnecessary. Will DEFINITELY be back!
I just paid almost 15$ for 2 slices of brisket? That doesn’t add up and that’s too expensive for 2 slices of brisket. This was my favorite, most reliable spot but was too little for too much. I hope they can be a little more reasonable than this.
Stumbled across this place by a mistake in review for my friend. It was kind of hilarious actually but glad we did... This place is kind of off the beaten path, but the building outside is beautiful. You walk inside. It looks like a typical Texas barbecue place but very updated. The girl at the window was very friendly and helpful answering our questions. We ordered the sloppy fries and I cannot sing the praises of those enough. They are the best loaded fries I've ever had in my life! The chopped brisket and the ribs were just delicious. The ribs were a bit greasy but still very good. I would recommend this place to anyone. And don't you dare leave without getting the peach cobbler, it is heaven in a cup.
This was some of the best BBQ I have ever had. The ribs was so flavorful and crispy. I honestly don't know how they were able to pack so much flavor into the ribs. They have some decent sides as well, but in my opinion the ribs are the star of the show. I stopped to visit on my way home and I am so glad I did. I will definitely be back.
Depending on the chef, determines the serving size and flavor of your meal. Not a fan of inconsistent tasting food from restaurants. BBQ was not bad, expected for the Trinity "family meal" be enough for me to share with my 2 small children. The servings were larger last time I ate here. Slightly disappointed. I'll give it another try, eventually.
Always had a great experience and the food is always good but I can't believe I just paid 12.99 for a rib sandwich and 2 of my ribs were fat and bones and really didn't have any meat really. I could bought some ribs and grilled myself. Make sure you're giving out the good parts of the rib not bone and fat
First time visiting and ordered the trinity with beans and brisket basket to go. While the beans were a religious experience (lots of mutterings of 'Oh my God this is good'), the trinity was also delicious (ribs, brisket and sausage) and just the right amount of spice and moist. The brisket basket I ordered....well they gave me a brisket sandwich instead, shorting me, and sadly the 2 slices of brisket that were on the sandwich were extremely dry at that and no one really ate the fries (tried one, but too spicy for my taste and not a fan of fries), so a big waste. Will definitely give them another try for the beans (TRULY amazing!!!) and can recommend a trip for that alone....but will definitely have to check the order more carefully this time.
Straight to the point: Chopped brisket sandwich basket was great. Meat was very moist. Smokiness just right and not overdone. Fries were really good too. Even the ranch was really good (I think it’s homemade?). Would definitely come back if I was in there area.Long version: Stopped by on Friday, 02/25/22. No long line. They were still busy with people coming and going, but the service was quick. It took less than 10 minutes to receive our meal after placing an order. I ordered the chopped brisket sandwich basket. They toast the buns and I believe add butter. The brisket itself was very good and moist. The smokiness was just right and not overdone. I put on the BBQ sauce after taking my first plain bite and enjoyed it even more. The fries were pretty good too. Nothing out of this world, but I enjoyed them. The taste almost reminded me of the fries you get from Dickey’s BBQ. I believe they make their own ranch. It was really good too. It’s thick and not watery. A meal for three of us totaled out to $45. Would definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area, but don’t think I’d go out of my way if you’re not close by.Only negative: My mom tried to order a peach cobbler for dessert. The cashier said they only serve it on Saturdays and Sundays. However, the menu says they also serve it on Fridays which my mom pointed out. The cashier apologized and said they unfortunately do not have any, but they would tomorrow. She was very nice, though. She made us feel welcome.Side note: Inside is very small. Which is probably why people usually just take their order to go. If you want to dine inside, there’s only about 6 tables. There’s a few tables outside as well.
Dosent taste like it’s smoked and quality of meat not good
I had some food catered from here and when I say ON POINT !!!!! Everything was excellent from the service to the food……. Thanks and I will be back
