I ordered the egusi. This was by far the worst I’ve ever had. The flavor was severely lacking. The mackerel fish was a decent amount which was the only thing bearable about the meal. Whoever handles the phone orders needs to be put through customer training first to learn how to deal with and respond to customers in a polite and patient manner. It was a guy who answered the phone when I called. Will I recommend this place to anyone- NO

*The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because I waited way too long and others that ordered after me were receiving their food before me.With that being said this food was absolutely delicious ? The star of my meal was the bean porridge. It had that African sweetness of spices and I could taste the crayfish powder dancing on my taste buds! It was a very pleasant surprise. The plantain was cooked to perfection ? I would definitely recommend this place to friends and will be back next time I visit!!!!

On Feb 22, 2022 , I made a visit to this restaurant as I normally do so often . I ordered the iguesi soup and pounded yam . In result unfortunately I caught food poisoning. In my efforts to contact the location to express my concerns to management about the food that was served to me in unsanitary or unsatisfactory conditions . I was yelled at and belittled as if my concerns and distress was not important or as if the consolation was not of there own . I loved this place but will never return ! Please be sure the food that is given is freshly cooked . They always have orders that are never picked up , so its clear in an attempt to save money I was handed one of those orders for the reason that they failed to properly make mine after sitting for 30 + mins .Yet the customers who came after me where served & properly catered to so the one star is for the neglect I experienced as a consistent paying patron .

I'm African American. I do construction. This food is healthy and fresh. I'm always satisfied with the portion I pay for because it's almost free how much they serve you. I have never eaten food with this flavor. My wife is so mad because I'm never hungry when I come home from work. Thanks For the wonderful experience. See you tonight .lol Eric

This the only place I go when I have taste for African food and it is always good and they give you worth your money ?

Really good Africa. Food! And the owners are really nice.

So this was my first time eating here and I got the jollof rice with chicken … lemme just start out by saying the flavor was really good in the rice nice and spicy how it should be so a rice was a solid 8.BUT the chicken that was on top was so hard and tough literally it was leather like. Idk why that was even ok to be put on the plate it was inedible.my friend got the egusi soup and chicken ( the chicken was the same tough chicken) the soup it self was ok with the fufu .

Food was flavorful and generous portions were given for my Ogbono Soup (better than Aso Rock Restaurant), but good Lord... Customer service was awful, I called 15 minutes before I arrived for my take-away order and still waited 45 minutes with only one order ahead of mine. Then after it arrived, the order was wrong and had to wait 10 more minutes. They didn't apologize for the wait, offer anything complementary, hell... I don't think any of the women working even smiled, said hello, or goodbye.... They did thank me for my order after taking my money though. Do better Shirk African Restaurant, your food is tasty but y'all gotta work on time management, presentation, and general friendliness.

Love the food especially number 5 definitely will be returning for more.

Chose Shuri to try African dishes (specifically fufu) with my girlfriend. I ordered the jollof rice with goat and suya and she got the fufu and okra soup (also with goat meat).I was of mixed opinions at the food quality. I thought the jollof rice was seasoned well and the suya was very tender. However the okra soup had a very fishy taste which, even with someone who loves slimy okra, couldn’t get past. Also the goats meat in the jollof rice was incredibly chewy and more than half was fat and gristle. If you come here I would recommend the jollof rice and suya.
