2nd time here but this time I got the lox and cheese! I just came back from a NYC trip so I was super excited to try the lox and cheese at Shug’s. Least to say, I was disappointed with it.1) There was way too much cream cheese to the point where I could barely taste the salmon and had to take some cheese off. There was more cream cheese than salmon tbh.2) There was an additional charge to EVERY add on. Charged for the bagel, cream cheese.. at the end it was like $20 for one single bagel.3) We requested for our bagels to be “lightly toasted” but it still tasted overly toasted and a bit burnt. There may have been a charge for that request too tbh, I wouldn’t be surprised. The vibe is pretty nice in the shop but for the price… I don’t think it’s worth it. I’ve been here before so I had no negative thoughts coming in, but paying so much to be disappointed was not worth it for me (especially when it’s such a long drive to get here). Also, I’ve been to bagel shops that charge the same thing for $10 or to NY where it was even less than that and they all tasted much better.

First time here, recommended by a friend. The line was massive! Had about 15 people waiting outside of the door, plus whatever inside so I almost walked away from it but saw the line moving at a steady pace and stayed. Best decision I made for my breakfast! Totally worth the wait! I got a chicken pesto bagel which I devoured! The taste was incredible! The staff was very friendly and patient! I was a little lost at their menu, as it was a build your own style of menu, but the cashier instructed me to a second menu on a different wall that had options to choose from. Picked a random one, he asked If I had tried it, told him it was my first time, and I didn’t know what to get but wanted chicken. He happily recommended the chicken pesto, my lady got a sausage egg cheese and bacon bagel, cashier checked me out swiftly and food was brought out rather quickly. Waited maybe two minutes if that! Will definitely be going here again!

Shug’s puts the B in BEST BAGELS in Dallas. It’s the flavor for meeeeee! I don’t think you can go wrong with any creation you decide to build. The bagels alone are the BOMB, they are crisp and soft at the same time! Love that they have so many choices and the ingredients are definitely fresh! Oh and they are generous with the cream cheese ?

The spicy shug is the best bagel sandwich I’ve ever had, and I think about it often. The store is always packed (understandably), so I highly recommend ordering an hour ahead for pickup on the weekends.

So darn expensive but so good LOLPaid $38 for two lox bagels, was pretty shocked that they charge for every little thing (tomatoes, onions, capers - all extra…) but man, it’s so darned good ?I base my reviews on value and can’t help but think it’s still a bit overpriced.

Shug’s Bagels serves a great breakfast bagel! I recommend egg and cheese on an everything bagel and my partner recommends the classic Shug on an everything bagel. It gets very busy on weekend mornings so plan to wait or order online and pickup at your designated time.

I literally cannot recommend this place enough. It is so good. Arguably better than some actual New York bagels I’ve had. There is a reason why there will often be a line extending way out the door on weekend mornings. So many great options & all of them delicious. I recommend getting your bagel double toasted for a crispy crunchy & fluffy experience. This place is a weekly tradition for me!

Everybody has bad days. Some people are good at having bad days, they can disguise it very well. They muster up a smile and distract themselves from their bad mood with conversations about the weather. I’m not one of those people, I’m bad at having bad days. My face muscles forget how to smile and I try to make conversations as brief as possible. On a bad day if someone wanted to talk to me about the weather, I’d feel tempted to tell them that I only feel comfortable discussing that information with my local weather man. That seems like the best way to end a useless conversation. Anyways, when I noticed the cashier at Shug’s bagels didn’t reciprocate my smile when I was ordering, I didn’t take it personally. I just assumed she was having a bad day. The bagels are so good here that the employees can afford to have a lot of bad days.

As I'm from NJ, it feels like it's missing something. That something I feel is the crunch and crisp bite of an NJ bagel. It's almost there. It's also missing the quantity of cream cheese you get in an NJ bagel store. Lastly, the taste and interior texture are what you would expect

Feels like you're in a NY deli! I've come here 3 times so far and tried the the garlic and everything bagel. The southwest cream cheese is delicious and definitely has a bit of a kick to it. The jalapeño cream cheese was just ok. If you like a your bagel a bit crunchy, get it double toasted. Quick and friendly service.
