My husband and I are in Dallas for a concert and this restaurant was 500 feet away so we went for dinner. I am picky about my Indian food and my absolute favorite is Lamb Rogan Josh and they have it! The service was so friendly and the food arrived fast and let me just say, it was superb! Especially the Naan bread basket. I highly recommend going if you’re in the area
Edit: I came for my college graduation and it was so good! They gave us great dish recommendations. (The cakes were bought by my aunt), the service was great. Love the changes that the new owner has made! I don’t know how long it’s been since the changes were made but it is a massive difference. But I had only gone once in the past and was not as satisfied, but now there is a new chef-owner and the food is much better and very flavorful!
I have dined here multiple times in the past month or so when I have been in the Dallas area for work. The staff is so friendly, they greet me like family when I walk in. The food is fresh and amazing. They asked what spice level I wanted when ordering. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone thirsty for spice and in the Dallas area.
Ordered carried out food from this restaurant Ordered two naans and got it very salty roti (flat bread). I threw away those salty rotis.North Indian platters were made with South Indian spices and it wasn’t good. Chilli paneer is the same way - made with different spices. The only good part was Masala tea. This restaurant needs to serve the food which is their specialty. It looks like this is managed by South Indian cook who may not have expertise on North Indian food.
Found Shivas on a complete whim and could not be happier with this find! The food was spectacular- some of the best Indian cuisine I have ever found - and the restaurant itself had a lovely and welcoming decor. Waitstaff were prompt, warm, and they remained attentive throughout the meal. I will absolutely be returning to this restaurant as it is my new favorite here in Dallas! Make sure you don't miss this gem next time you visit!
Wonderful atmosphere that made us feel like family. We had the chicken samosas and they were out of this world. Perfectly crispy and full of wonderfully flavorful chicken. We then did the main entrees of Chicken Curry, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Chicken Vindaloo all at a level 7 spice. We added an order each of butter, garlic and plain naan bread for good measure. This is our new go to spot. Highly recommend as you will not be disappointed! Love love love, can’t wait to come back for more!
I ordered Rogan Josh with chicken and added mixed vegetables; it was awful. The vegetables were not fresh and the chicken was over-cooked. Even the rice didn’t taste good because it was over-cooked and dry. Neither the food nor the customer service were good, don’t bother coming here expecting good Indian food. My colleague has Rohan Josh with salmon that was also over cooked, she described it as terrible.
Horrible food and terrible service. Ordered chicken tandoori which was rubbery, shrimp coconut masala was not completely cooked and vegetable kadai was randomly cut veggies with barely any gravy.
We ordered over $100 worth of food on Friday night. We were working late and needed to get work done. The food arrived late. The food was cold. The yellow rice was tasteless. They did not include napkins or utensils in the order. I called and they took no responsibility for the order at all. The lady that answered the phone blamed the delivery driver for everything. I’ve been to Shiva’s during the day only. This is the first time I’ve had this food at night. The day time crew has better customer service and the food is fresh. I just don’t know if it’ll return. I spent too much money to go back for more tasteless and cold food.
1st time customer. Ordered the chicken vindaloo, mali kafta, and Dal. Order hot for the vindaloo and medium for the other 2. Even if you love hot like I do. Do NOT get past mild. We can barely eat the food we ordered it’s so spicy. Very unfortunate.
