I was searching for a solid breakfast place and landed at the perfect spot. When we walked in the door we were immediately greeted and taken to a table. On the way to the table the waitress grabbed waters and menus which was a great start to the experience. Many food choices and good southern style cooking. I got an omelette with gyro meat and feta which I was a little leary of but it was excellent. I love omelettes and the gyro and feta flavors already so mashup was perfection. The chicken fried chicken was perfectly fried and the biscuits and gravy were the belly stuffing topper.I want to go back for lunch to try out some of those options.
This was my first time the visit the Original Market Diner. The hostess met me at the door with a big smile and I was seated promptly. Laura, my server, brought me coffee and took my order. Taking note of the decor and atmosphere, it was timeless. It seemed my order was brought before I finished stirring my coffee. The food was well plated, sufficiently warm, and tasty. The coffee was not my favorite, but that is a matter of personal preference. The booth in which I was seated was a little cramped, and my legs dangled from the overly tall seat, but it wasn’t too uncomfortable to enjoy the meal. Overall, it was a good experience and I would eat here again.
This place is pretty good for some old fashion diner foods. I got the eggs benedict, & it was absolutely delicious. They give you real Canadian bacon & rich hollandaise sauce. We try to eat here when we are in Dallas. The food is well prepared and in generous proportions. The staff is what keeps us coming back. They manage to make it look easy, working in packed restaurant. Our waitress, Sandi made us feel welcomed. She is quick and super sweet.This place rocks!

While we were in town we thought we’d try it out. It was a mixed experience. We really liked the old school diner vibe that the place has. Our server was personable. I ordered the blueberry waffle, bacon and two biscuits. I’ll start with the positive. The bacon was properly prepared - too many places cook their bacon until it’s crispy and breaks up - here the bacon was perfectly chewy but not under done. The biscuits were - ok. They seemed a tad bit dry inside and the outside could have been baked a bit more. The blueberry waffle was a disappointment. It was about 6-7” diameter and no thicker than a frozen boxed waffle. It came sprinkled with a bit of powder sugar and a side of blueberry pie filling. The waffle had no crispiness to it at all - not soggy but definitely undercooked. For $14 I was expecting more from a waffle. My wife had eggs over easy which were prepared well. The hash browns were very good, homestyle, crispy on the outside and tender but not mushy on the inside. Definitely made from scratch! She also had the chocolate hazelnut banana bread French toast. First, the portion was generous. The combo of banana bread with the chocolate hazelnut was delightful. That said, the outside did not have the crispy coating or texture one expects from French toast. It was much more like banana bread and much less like French toast. Overall, I might have given them a 4-star, but $43 for the above is a bit pricey for a diner. If we happened to be by the place and wanted breakfast (which is served all day) I might go in, but would not drive any distance to go back.
As long as this place been there I've never been there until today. The experience that we had today was a nice one. You are greeted as soon as u walk in and sat. The staff doesn't take long to come get your drink or food order. They are so fast in the kitchen my family and I started a conversation and about 10-15 min later our food was coming out. We are a family of 4. Enjoyed the service there and we will be returning in the near future
Good diner food, fast service, but higher priced. Also the service almost kicked us out, when we finished our meal, we would have liked to finish our conversation.
