The noodles are very well cooked, but for me this place did not live up to the expectation created by the reviews. Service was lackluster. We were told the cucumber salad wasn't spicy, but it is. The stir fried tofu didn't have much tofu and much of the tofu it did have was over fried. The noddles were very good though. The vegetarian dumplings were my favorite part along with the view of sky scrapers in the distance and the gentle breeze.
We visited the Monkey King at The Exchange Hall. I really wanted to love this place..but no...It was a complete miss for me. My daughter's chicken noodle soup was tasteless. She took a few bites then stopped eating it. So my dad agreed to take it home and season it. She ended up eating half of my mom's Bobbers burger. The egg rolls were just okay. Nothing really memorable. The chicken fried rice was disappointing. Eating it was just a chore. Didn't want to sit there staring at everyone else eat so I just shoveled the strangled flavored kernels into my pie hole.. For $40 bucks, my daughter and I starved. At least my parents dogs got to eat some fried rice for dinner?
Absolutely love Monkey King. They are nice enough to find a way to make Taiwanese chicken nuggets for our picky teen. Supplies were low due to weather, and he took our order and made her some nuggets. It was worth the wait to see how happy it made her on Monday night. Entire family, including picky eaters loves their food.
Disappointed.... we have been eating here for a few years and usually have had great experiences in the past. Our last visit, we placed an order for over $150 of food for takeout and were so disappointed that our orders were not at the level of spice requested. One of the main reasons we ordered here was to actually get some food that has enough heat.... I have tried their deadly level 11 and decided to dial it back to a level 9 beef stir-fry where I can still taste the food without the heat overwhelming flavor. When I took a bite, there was no heat at all.... my 8 year old child was able to eat my food! We tried all the other levels of 6 and 3 and still no heat at all....... called them to ask if anything changed in the levels and were told that nothing changed and that it must be just an error, were sorry.... that's it! Well, what about not getting what we ordered? Sadly to say, we won't go back due to the lack of customer service we were provided.....Manager replied right away to review but when I emailed her, no response! Been over a month..
Wish the soup dumplings were served hot but was very cold. The texture of the noodles (probably made only with flour) was not my favorite but I enjoyed the taste of the soup of Dan Dan pork noodle.
We love this Taiwanese restaurant. It reminds me of home. Beef noodle is very good, pork dumplings are tasty, popcorn chicken is yummy, the only thing I think could be better is the skin of wonton could be thinner a bit. It tasted like eating a bao instead of a wonton. Overall we love it.
The food was alright, neither of us finished it but it wasn't the quality I'd had in previous years.The biggest issue was that we ordered ahead but still waited over an hour for two chicken soups. They had a ticket issue with ours and seemed short staff... but dozens of people came and ordered the same thing, ate and left before we got ours.I asked if they could just make a new ticket if ours didn't print but they said no??We were in a hurry (hence the ordering ahead) told it would be 10 minutes. We had a fussy baby, growing hungry and tired so it was stressful. A few other people had the same problem and just got angry and left.I suggest dining in if you have plenty of time.
Delicious! Easy to place order, loved the open feel of the restaurant. All the food we ordered was fantastic - veggie stir fry (with eggplant!), scallion pancakes, and pork dumplings. Full of flavor and good level of spiciness.
This was probably the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. While the man taking our order was nice, explained everything to me, and was very apologetic. I ordered my food first out of my 2 other sisters, and theirs came out before mine ever did. my food never came out. never. i waited about 50 minutes for my food after ordering. of course i tried some of my sister’s food, and it wasn’t worth the price nor the wait. mediocre at best. i do not recommend going here
