Was not what we ordered I ordered the pupusas combo and as you can see these black beans were more of a soup than refried the rice had a strange texture undercooked be chimichanga was ordered with fajita chicken and got ground up chicken same for the pupusa all I got was cheese and ground up chicken I don't think they were made in-house not a hundred percent sure they looked Frozen and thawed was very disappointed it came with a very high rating for this restaurant through a friend the service in this restaurant was very very inadequate even though there were only seven tables in the restaurant at 12:30 in the afternoon wait staff was unwilling to attend two tables had the flag down waitress or waiter or dish person to get our drinks refilled I am typically a very good at leaving a nice tip but I left them nothing in this restaurant because we were even told we don't speak English when I ask for a refill on my tea and they walked away will never ever go back to this restaurant and will urge the person that was telling us about this restaurant to find a more suitable Guatemalan restaurant because these were totally not authentic at all
Excellent restaurant. I had the chicken enchiladas. First of all, hug portion sizes definitely worth the price. Food was fresh, flavorful, and had a great taste. The outdoor dining area was really nice. The service was friendly and fast. No wait there! Highly recommend
Just tried the new location... Just as amazing as the old spot on Lemon. Had to splurge on the chimichanga. And it was worth it. The bean dip is SO much better than the other Salvadoran chain... Parking in the garage is validated for up to two hours. Give Mario's a shot!
I stopped by their new location and it was an odd situation. The hostess seemed to not be in a good mood and that's okay. I know service are going through a lot. The waitress who took my order kept telling me I couldn't have what I asked for. I wanted to order fajitas with no dairy and instead get extra guacamole, even if you had to bill me for it. She told me I couldn't take the dairy off, there was no substitutions. I tried to explain that I didn't want to substitute I wanted to add and she just wasn't listening. We finally came to an agreement and I got the guacamole and all was well. I just kind of felt like maybe she was used to people trying to get things extra and I was actually offering to pay.
I wouldn’t recommend coming here . First of all it’s not authentic food . I asked for chicken soup and they told me it just comes in strips . Also they don’t have pan con pollo which is a very popular Salvadorian dish. Thirdly their pork pupusa tasted so Disgusting !!! I bought only one pork and two bean and cheese. I almost threw up from the pork. I let the sever know and the manager came . She was so rude . She’s like nothing is wrong with it and everything we use is fresh . I was raised with Salvadoran and Mexican food ! I know how it should taste . Don’t Waste your time coming here for the bad food and bad customer service
I've been coming to Mario's for the past 10 years, first at their old location on Lemmon and now at the new location. It's consistently great, with the service, atmosphere, and food all meeting or exceeding my expectations. The pupusas are to die for, and I love all the traditional El Salvadorean options as well as the more common Tex-Mex cuisine. Ask for extra black bean dip with your chips (it's so good!) and don't miss the fried Chicharrones as well. My go-to for weekend brunch is the eggs, black beans, and fried plantains. Can't be beat!
Had a good time here. The lunch serving was s bit small though. I left hungry. It is not cheap lunch, so, that was a bit unfortunate. Still liked it, and will probably be back.
Love it here always no wait and fun to be at the bar area, talk to the locals and socialize.Complimentary chips with bean and salsa dips. Frozen and rocks margarita happy hour 3-7 pm everyday. New location is much nicer and cleaner than the old one. Huge patio for outdoor seating!
Great service. Margaritas are also really good. Food is very mild so this would be a good choice for someone requiring less bold. We had the fajitas which were good but left me craving that savory almost buttery fajita taste. Very clean and comfortable.
I went to this location for the First Time, I really enjoyed their Large Shrimp Cocktail, it was so good. I also tried a Pupusa with pork and cheese, First time trying one and I really enjoyed it. The Restaurant is very roomy and a nice Atmosphere. I will go back.Sorry no pictures, I was so hungry that I forgot to take some...
