The food was OK to good. My Canadian wife and I went for breakfast. They provided too much food for too much money. My problem that will most likely prevent me from returning involved syrup. My breakfast came out with a small container of syrup. I asked if it was maple syrup. The server told me no, there was a surcharge for maple syrup. I have eaten breakfast in many Canadian restaurants from Montreal, QC to Victoria, BC. Always had maple syrup with my pancakes or waffles. This place is a wannabe Canadian diner that falls very short if it cannot serve maple syrup with pancakes!
We came here on Memorial Day to celebrate a birthday and had a great experience! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the food was fantastic, and our server Chris was very friendly and attentive. We both ordered the Chicken & Waffles and they were very well plated/presented and so, so good! The waffles were crisp on the outside but still tender on the inside. The fried chicken tenders had a not too thick, not too thin coating that tasted very homey and delicious and paired perfectly with the waffles. The two little cream puffs rounded out the meal nicely. They were surprisingly not too sweet. We washed it all down with some yummy, refreshing iced lattes. Perfect! Cannot wait to return to try out other items on the menu.
Very clean and nicely decorated. I thought for sure this place was part of some corporate chain or had multiple locations because of the professional design throughout the restaurant. I was surprised to learn it was a single locally owned location. Staff is extremely friendly and efficient. Food was absolutely delicious! And they've been featured on several TV shows for their superior flavors! After eating here I clearly see why. 100% recommend this place!!
Great dining experience. Great atmosphere, service and delicious food. Chris was our server and he was attentive and courteous. I had the chicken, bacon and waffles and it was delicious. The yummy melt in your mouth cream puffs on the top were a nice bonus and the best cream puffs I have ever had. The bakery counter was a nice touch so you can take sweets home with you too! Definitely worth the visit, my only complaint would be the wait but it was well worth it!
Maple Leaf Diner has great Food and even better service. I would recommend getting on their online wait-list because wait times can exceed 2.5 hours. They still have partitions between tables for those who are still being cautious. The waffles were cooked to perfection and my partners chicken fried chicken was delicious. I loved that they served fresh lemonade and grapefruit juice.Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely return.Food 5/5Service 5/5Cleanliness 5/5Parking 5/5Atmosphere 4.5/5
Sitting in the hotel waiting to depart for breakfast, I do a quick search on my phone for "Best Place for Breakfast". After reading reviews on a few places, this one stuck out. My wife and I showed up around 1100 on a Friday. I was thinking we would have no wait this time of day during the week. I was wrong. We were told it would be 30 minutes, however, we only had to wait about 15. Very pleasant Host, Very Nice Server and the food was Great. Come Hungry because the servings are not small. And it is not just the quantity, It is Quality as well. You can see from the pics that I had the Chicken and Waffles and My wife had the Eggs Benedict. They taste as good as they look. They kept everything on the side, which allowed me to set it up like I wanted. Everything was great, from the sausage down to the gravy. y wife really liked the Eggs Benedict saying they did a perfect jog preparing the eggs and the sauce was wonderful. Dallas is a big place, but this place is worth the find.
Although Maple Leaf Diner’s raison d'etre is reportedly ownership’s craving for Canuck Cuisine a look at the menu suggests no shortage of concessions, nearly 2/3 of the options leaning into non-descript origins such as Burgers, Benedicts and piles seemingly intended for Man v. Food. The brainchild of Michael Delaurier and his Ontario native wife Debra Maple Leaf Diner opens at 7:00am daily, items proudly promoted as featured by Food Network or Paula Dean a focal point and entirely self-indulgent such as “Chicken, Bacon & Waffles” needlessly topped with Strawberries, Whipped Cream and Cream Puffs on toothpicks. Home to enormous portions and fair prices that help explain the spot’s popularity, though American Bacon, Chicken Strips no better than the grocer’s freezer and fake Maple Syrup are all a disgrace to Canada, Poutine fares better in its tradition form with thick-cut Fries, squeaky Curds and uncomplicated Gravy. The sort of place where one might be called "sweet pea,” "hun,” "darlin’" and "doll" in less than 30 minutes Desserts hail from Pastry cases at the front, a “stuffed” Chocolate Chunk Walnut Brownie Cookie dry, dull and unnecessary while Nanaimo Bars and Butter Tarts are authentic and delicious.
Randomly found this spot looking for some breakfast. I got the featured magazine Chicken and waffles. The cream puff was light and airy, not overly sweet. The bacon had that nice crunch on it, the chicken had the perfect amount of seasoning on it and fried to perfection. The waffles had a nice crunchy exterior with a fluffy bite inside. Since there was powdered sugar garnished over the plate, I put it on my strawberries. My drink of choice was a Canadian whiskey sour. The drink was well balanced, tasted almost like a sweet lemonade that gives u a little buzz. My waiter was Chris very friendly and attentive, my overall experience was great and I’ll be back to try more than just breakfast.
I had the chicken and waffles. Absolutely delicious. Asked for bacon to be well done and it was nice and crispy. Next time I would ask for strawberries and cream on the side. I prefer butter with the chicken, waffles, and syrup. The cream puffs were soooo good!
My daughter invited me to meet her here for breakfast and it was awesome. The servings where huge and service was very good and friendly. I told my business partner about it and he stopped for lunch with a client on the same day. We both agreed that this is our new favorite spot especially for breakfast. It's in the middle of a strip mall and not visible from the street, so it's easy to overlook. Our client's office was just a block away and he wasn't aware of it. It is a Canadian influenced restaurant and I had eggs with house made Canadian Bacon that was really different from commercial Canadian Bacon. I will be back... alot!
