Biggest myth in the south is that all black people can cook.. WRONG! Them greens, straight from the can, the cheese on the Mac n cheese was for nachos, my biggest complaint is how she slopped everything in the carton so you get a bag of juice when you open the bag, do better and the attitude wasn't the best either. The line inside just means church folks and others didn't wanna cook Sunday dinner, that's all!!!
One of the best soul food spots in Dallas. I’ve been going here for years. I usually always get the oxtails and over the years, the price has gone up which is to be expected but they’re well worth it. Their food has so much flavor and you can’t go wrong with whatever you get. The only thing that I can say is just ok is their cakes. Their banana pudding is delicious and so is their koolaid. Seriously, go here and you won’t be disappointed.
My food tasted old stopped in for catfish when they said they didn’t have any I should have left at that my greens was so salty had my blood pressure up
Walked in without a mask and was told can’t come in without a mask which is understandable. Then went back to the car and found one mask and used a velvet cloth for my bf which was wrapped around 4 times and covered his nose and mouth. We walked back in and there was a lady already waiting with a mask saying he can’t use that which means they watched us that whole time. The 50 cent mask they handed us is significantly less effective then him have actual material covering his face and when I asked that she ignored me and walked off. At this point I’m beyond irritated and choose to go to South Dallas Cafe. Where I should have gone in the first place.
This was not it. Was yelled at regarding a mask. No bathroom. Not clean at all. Cash only!! No menus! And worst of all..sooo rude. We ended up leaving. Would not recommend.

I spent almost $65 for oxtail dinner’s The food was salty the lady at the cash register was very rude I will not be going back ever ever ever again I will not be going back to this place at all I don’t recommend no one to go to this place because you’re gonna die if you go here the food is horrible everything was salty you could taste the salt in the food the Black Eyed Peas was salty the greens was salty the Peach cobbler Very doughy I will be going to McDonald’s before I go here I see why they don’t let you sit down to eat because if you sit down in this place you would ask for your money back immediately they were very rude and unprofessional very nasty Attitude especially the cash register lady I ordered a drink matter fact my meal came with two drinks so I didn’t want the Kool-Aid because I’m trying to stay away from Kool-Aid all I want it was the ice she didn’t even wanna give me the ice I just didn’t want the Kool-Aid and I already paid for the Kool-Aid all I want it was just ice instead of the Kool-Aid now how rude is that I will never go back to this place you would be so mad
The worst catering job I have ever experienced, they gave us raw food after placing an order with them! After I asked for a free dessert she wouldn't even do that! Unbelievable, service..
On last week I visited and because of a mix up I left without my chicken in my Chicken dinner I called and spoke with the manager and told me that I could come back and pick it .. because it was my lunch break I couldn’t go right back. We agreed that I would come back after work… A few minutes later he called back and asked were I worked and ask if it would be okay if they brought it to me?? On top of the food being Great the Customer Service was phenomenal. They had my Chicken to me sooo quick and it was piping hot and crispy. Thanks for a wonderful experience! You all rock??
You know that the food is good when there is a line running all the way around the dining area and out the door. I can't wait to get some southern cooking in me!!Smothered ribs, Mac and cheese, yams and a slice of red velvet cake for lunch.
