Went here for an anniversary date. Super cute atmosphere, delicious drinks, and great service. Lena was a doll — she recommended the best apps and drinks! The crab cakes were my favorite. We didn’t even realize much of the menu was 50% off on Mondays. I definitely recommend checking that out. Great, chill atmosphere with delicious, reasonably-priced food (the latter is especially hard to find these days). Ask for Lena- she made it all especially fun! Definitely recommend.
Wonderful new location in the growing Bishop Arts area. The staff is absolutely lovely and give you the best experience here. I could just rave about this place forever, but you'll have to come and try it for yourself.Honestly, the entire menu is such a hit. Amazing combinations of flavors from Connie - I can't quite call it straight cajun because it a great balance of so many Asian spices, seasonings, and sauces that really put a modern twist on classic favorites.Highlights:-Chargrilled oysters-Raw oysters (there's usually at least 2 options each day)-Crawfish & crab; the freshest selection that is paired so well with the sauces (must try - Connie sauce)-Literally every signature drink on the menuThere are so many options on such a simplistic menu. I've already been here a handful of times and I just can't get enough! On a side note, raw oysters are 1/2 off on Mondays! They have brunch (which I'll have to be back for) on Sundays and Mondays! Street parking is abundant, but if you're a fan of the DART, it'll drop you off directly in front of the restaurant. There's outdoor seating, and everything is desensitized so thoroughly after each customer. Extremely safe bet during Covid.
Went with my wife on a Wednesday night. Overall the experience was good. We ordered the jambalaya egg rolls, mussels with garlic bomb flavor, hush puppies, the creamy c’Asian pasta and the rice w/beans and sausage. The mussels were the highlight of the dinner. Everything else was just fine.
A casual, chill vibe with amazing Asian Cajun food worth so much more! Seriously, I love how easy it is to get seating even for a large party. On top of that, every dish is delicious. This is a must for any seafood lover!
Wonderful staff and the food was delicious
This is my favorite new place in Bishop! The drinks were complex but perfectly balanced, the dishes maintained an equilibrium of sweet, savory, tart, and piquant, the service was friendly and prompt. We ate brunch here, but I already want to come back for dinner tonight!
Fantastic Cajun/Asian fusion!! Highly recommend for brunch, lunch, or dinner!Great drink menu. Try the Eye of the Dragon cocktail. Very refreshing and light. I had the Aloha watermelon drink too but had a strange peppery after taste. Proceed with caution there. The adjacent table had a smoking old fashioned that looked beautiful and smelled wonderful. We had the jambalaya egg rolls and they were so tasty. Recommend. We also had the chargrilled oysters and they were excellent. That come with a perfect crustini for their delivery. I had the Wilson sandwich. It was savory but not too heavy. Beautifully done softshell crab and jambalaya poured over.Highly recommend all around. Great atmosphere, food, and drinks!
Dined in - on my “my kitchen is forever under renovations” restaurant tour. First visit was the evening after Mother’s Day madness. Food was completely on point - service was nice but lax. I give that a pass though- I’m sure they were beat from the special brunch. I had blackened fish and 2 sides. Everything including the iced tea was spot on.I love that they have veg and vegan dishes alongside healthy, and then all the Asian Cajun seafood you can imagine.Second visit no one really seemed to want to take another table, even though it wasn’t busy. Long time to be greeted, awkward interaction w the server, totally disengaged from the customers. Food was good again.Their fried okra and vegan red beans and rice are good. I ordered the spinach, fried rice and blackened cod.I wanted to like the hush puppies, but they tasted reheated.I say “meh” to the jambalaya egg rolls too- the execution otherwise was great - but it mostly had like leftover rice in it - didn’t taste any jambalaya in it at all.The healthy options and the perfect sear on the dish and yummy veggies will keep me coming back. Just needs a few tweaks. I recommend trying them.
i came here for the first time during Asian and Pacific Islander heritage month, so it was super busy and there was a WHOLE BLOCK PARTY right outside. but that didn’t get in the way of me getting amazing service from the staff the moment i walked in. they were incredibly attentive and patient as i navigated the menu for the first time. i wanted a frozen margarita and they suggested this drink as an alternative, it’s called lost city. not that strong but still very good! the creamy c’asian pasta was also really good but the star of this meal is DEFINITELY the jambalaya egg rolls. they were so fresh and burning my mouth but i didn’t care because they were that good ? i was so impressed by how fast my food came out!!! i’m looking forward to coming back here to explore the rest of the menu ?
Don’t book via Open table. We booked weeks before and they didn’t have our reservation. They told us they recently switched to another reservation platform and they lost all reservations booked on Open Table. No fault of Open Table. If they were making this operational change, the restaurant should have proactively called this with existing reservations. They told us they had a large party and we could walk in , wait and we might get a table.
